PLAYING GAME ON TRANSMITTER!
Was just checking the oled and switch and joystick so thought of playing the classic snake game. Should I put a mini speaker/buzzer so that it makes a beep sound whenever any option is selected on the display?
HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT WALKING!!
Okay so it is walking but it’s trying to break its motors. Reducing ground clearance will help as motors won’t have to work more. So will do that but as I have started working on HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT 2.O! (https://stardance.hackclub.com/projects/22328) maybe I will be giving less time to this one but still I will try to make it walk properly and then I will have to control it using my transmitter (https://stardance.hackclub.com/projects/22304/devlogs/22662)
HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT TRYING TO WALK!
So, it did tried walking but broke 3-4 servos, so will have to change the angle between femur and coxa and will have to replace broken motors. And can someone tell me in comments how to post video on devlog without shipping it as I haven’t completed the coding it yet, but it does walk a bit.
CODING THE HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT!
So, I tried coding it to make it walk firstly, and of course it’s not working, so will try again, will try to figure out angles of all three joints and each leg.
FINALLY HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT COMPLETE! The hexapod and transmitter are fully assembled now just have to add receiver system to hexapod and will have to program both hexapod and transmitter.
LEGS OF HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT!
Finally got the legs of hexapod/spider robot, then started assembling them but the 1.7 mm holes for 2mm screws were too much tight so, manually had to increase holes size, then soldered some broken servo wires and changed internal gears of some servos and was finally able to complete all 6 legs!

Finally, the transmitter wiring is completed, now will have to code it and setup the receiver system for hexapod.
POWERING THE TRANSMITTER FOR THE HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT AND ADDING SCREEN!
So, I used 2X 3.7v 18650 cells in parallel and then connected to step-up module to get 5v for ESP32 and NFR adapter, and I’m using TP4056 for charging and a battery level indicator and I still have to do the wiring of 0.96inch OLED display and the 3 push buttons.
TRANSMITTER FOR THE HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT!!
So, I did basic wiring of the main transmitter for the hexapod/spider robot. I used ESP32 and 2x joystick modules and NRF24L01 adapter and NR2401 PA+LNA module, AND ADDAD A STEP-UP MODULE TO GIVE 5V POWER SUPPLLY TO ESP32 AS I WILL BE USING 2X 18650 cells to power it.

So, as I’m waiting for the leg chassis, so I thought to make a transmitter for the hexapod/spider robot, I used ESP32 DEVKIT V1 CORE 3.X as I only have that micro controller except A4RDUINO R4 MINIMA but as it’s been used for robot, so I used esp32. And I still have to make the connections of ESP32 and joystick and NRF24LD1 adapter.
LAST PEICE OF HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT CHASSIS!
So, I made the last piece of hexapod/spider robot this is the tibia part of leg, and this is the final chassis we need to complete the whole hexapod/spider robot chassis. The tibia leg is curved so it won’t touch the femur and get more range of motion and has slot for wire of servo and support rod behind. now will get all the leg parts 3D printed from online 3D printing services.
MAKIING THE FEMUR PART OF HEXAPOD/SPIIDER ROBOT LEG!
So, I made the femur part of the hexapod/spider robot. It has two servo horn sockets so that we can put the hip servo and tibia servo horn in the sockets and the three holes in front are for adding the support which I made previously and at the back there’s a slot for the tibia motor wire and two holes so that it can hold the coxa and tibia chassis supports.
HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT BODY! Finally, received the body chassis of the hexapod/spider robot body, then I used zip ties to put the 300W 20A DC-DC BUCK CONVERTER and 2 PCA9685 boards in the lower body and will put the Arduino and other things in upper body, but I still don’t have any battery to power it, so for now I will use 2x 2 ampere 12v adapters to power it.
MAKING COXA PART OFF THE HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT.
So, I made the coxa part of the hexapod/spider robot leg this part will be having two motors, one upper mg90s servo motor will sweep the leg left and right and another lower mg90s servo motor will lift and drop the leg.
MADE SERVO HORN SUPPORT FOR FEMUR PART OF THE LEG.
I made a support for femur part of leg to hold the servo horns on the femur, so they won’t come out of get loose when the leg is moving, it has 3 holes of 1.8 mm for the screws so that it can hold on to the femur part and made same hole and square like I made for the coxa support part so that the horn top supports get in the way when we will add support to femur part and hole to screw and unscrew the servo bolts.
I was making the servo horn support for femur part of hexapod/spider robot leg and suddenly software closed and lookout also stopped recording and showed some error maybe because my software automatically stopped.
CREATING SUPPORT FOR COXA MOTOR HORNS AND PLACING ORDERS FOR BOTH THE UPPER AND LOWER BODY CHASSIS.
So, I made a support for coxa servo horns so that the servo horns won’t get loose or move from body when the robot will move legs it has 8.5mm hole so that we can screw servo without removing supports and 2 screw holes to stick the support to the body and the lower part of support has a rectangle with depth 2mm so that the supports on mg90s servo horns won’t get in way when we add the supports. and also, I ordered both the upper and lower chassis of body.
MAKING THE LOWER BODY OF THE HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT.
This is the part 2/final part of making body for the robot, here I completed the lower body of the hexapod/spider robot. So, in the lower body we can put a 300W 20A DC to DC buck converter and 1 big or 2 small lipo batteries then the Arduino and 2 pca9685 boards will be in the upper body, or we can put 2 pca9685 and the buck converter in the lower body then 1 big or 2 small batteries and the Arduino will be in the upper body.

This is the part 1 of making the lower body of the hexapod/spider robot, I wanted to record the whole designing process in one go but the lookout reached its limit and automatically stopped after 2hours 45minutes, so I will restart the lookout and will complete the whole lower body.
DESIGNED TOP BODY OF MY HEXAPOD/SPIDER ROBOT.
I made the top part of the hexapod robot body, this part holds the coxa motor’s servo horns, the walls are 2mm thick so that we can get light weight but strong body, and this body is for mg90s or sg90 servo motors, mg90s motors would be much better as they have torque of 2.2kg/cm. This body length and wreath can fit an Arduino and 2 PCA9685 boards and a 300W 20A DC-DC buck converter and 1 or 2 small lipo batteries.
