Drone Controller Devlog #13. Its working!. Its not complett yet but ive soldered everything i could so far on. Its my second time soldering at home and i think i did a good enough job. (Btw the LED on means that its connected). Solding get really fun when its hard even solding the simplest parts is fun for me but im still yet not that good so if you have advise or things i should get for solding im always open.

Drone Controller Daedalus v1 Devlog #12. The PCB is finally here and i can start soldering it all. When i look at the esp32e and the 16 pin usb c i dont think ill do this first try but i hope i wont just break it.

Devlog #3 Wake Up! The code for Project Blare is finally wrapped! Since Ive never built a project quite like this before i was definitely out of my depth at first. I ended up using ai as a coding assistant to guide me and help write the firmware (ai just did everything). Uploaded the code to GitHubso its basically done software wise. I might change the case a bit down the line but this will propably be the final software post for this project.

Devlog #7 Satellite Drone Icarus v1. Finished the BOM and added the only things i have right now to the Github (The CAD is not finished but its all i could do without hardware). Next things to do will be the hardware in betaflight

Devlog #2 Wake Up!. Made the last touches on the case and started the Github, the design changes turned out to be worse than expected. Last things to do will be to improve my code and eventuallyadd it to the github.

Devlog #2 Blare. Today i finished the case for the clock. It did take me some time since i taught someone Onshape while making it. I find my design is really empty though so i might change it later on.

Devlog #6 Satellite Drone Icarus v1. Milestone reached on the 3D model: the upper and lower sections are combined making up the prototype. The interior layout houses the dual batterys, VideoTransmitter, Buzzer, LinearSevos, the GPS and the rest im still working on picking out. The CAD phase for this version is almost wrapped up. I hope i get the demensions right and ill make the BOM next.

Devlog #1 Blare. Finished the PCB its my first time adding text to the PCB and still figuring out how to inport images. With the circuit design done the next phase is designing a 3D enclosure in Onshape

Devlog #4 Satellite Drone Icarus v1. The upper section of the drone is done! I gave it a visual overhaul with a black white design, smoothed out the whole profile, and added “Icarus v1” engravings right into the print surface. The physical 3D print actually turned out smoother than expected, the vertical anchor deployment system is working on the prototype (still manuel pullup since i dont have the servos yet). Im just adding the last few screw holes to secure everything together properly. Next steps are designing the lower section to house the camera, battery, and main electronics, plus finally locking in the exact components I want to use.

Devlog #3 Satellite Drone Icarus v1. Made major progress on the project. I completely redesigned the layout from scratch since the original folding arms were too small. The upper section of the satellite drone is now almost finished, and after testing a few preliminary 3D prints, I’m currently printing the full assembly to test overall fitment. The final touches for the upper section will include adding mounting holes for the assembly screws, as well as dedicated internal space to house the flight controller and electronics and adding a few cosmetic details.

Devlog #2 Satellite Drone Icarus v1. Ive made good progress on the arm deployment mechanism, focusing on a sliding central anchor that pushes the arms outward when raised. The motor holders came out well, though I might thicken them up for extra durability. The mechanical release concept was actually inspired by an opening box mechanism a friend of mine made for his mom. Now thinking of a good idea how to push it up is the next challenge

Devlog #1: Satellite Drone Icarus v1- Today marked the start of the design phase for my second concept, as the initial idea proved not to be ideal. I also began compiling the Bill of Materials (BOM) by selecting the core components. More updates coming soon! Design inspired by “I Build Stuff” on Youtube

Devlog #11 Drone Controller Daedalus v1. I Forgot i had to make a .csv too not just a normal file. I added supports to the CAD design to hold the Joysticks -made the holes for the LEDs and Potentiometer bigger since i forgot that the plastic stretches and gave the joysticks overall more room. Made the BOM with all the links and everything needed. Forgot that i needed a different footprint for the ams and only changed it now i should have done it when i made the schematic but well. Was fun finally doing something again i didnt have much time latly since there was a birthday and a wedding.

Devlog #10 Drone Controller Daedalus v1. I fixed the prototype print by asking some people how I should improve it. They said to also make them less long. I explained that I wanted it like that, but ultimately gave in and just shortened them instead of making them infinitely wider. Its going slow latly since stuff is getting shipped very slow and im still waiting for approvel.

Devlog #9 Printing the prototypes and fixing the cad. Today i printed the prototypes which to very long and fixed the cad so i couldnt really do anything since the prototype before this didnt print well at all i had to wait very long so today i couldnt really do much. The prototype looks good only thing is that the pieces holding them toghether are way to weak so ill need to come up with a new idea to attach them, make the beams bigger or buy a more durable filament than pla

I made a Website about me. Understanding CSS for the first time was really complicated but after going though the css tut linked i got fast into it. Im proud of the design and how i made the sections work with almost no code. Ai was used for correcting my bad spelling. I didnt know what to put in the readme of the github so i asked ai for an example.
