I built NewTabbit. A custom new tab that gives you new and interesting information every time you go to search something. The project features 4 info cards each having different information. 4 different API’s are used and that gives you a random fact, a random Pokemon, a random Wikipedia Article and a random Dog picture each time you to to search something!
The search bar can be used to search anything you want across 3 different search engines, the selected engine is stored locally so you don’t need to select the one you want to use each time. Also the search bar recognizes links so you can paste a link and it will take you there (instead of searching that link).
Honestly i am really happy how the project turned out considering that i am just starting out Web Development!
Looks pretty basic but i managed to get the search function working. The search supports both text and link searching so you can type google.com and it won’t search google for “google.com”
Probably will look at some styling next but who knows.
