Star Calculator

I am making a second version of my original MyMelody Calculator. I made that project 3 months ago, right before spring break. I had beginner-level knowledge of CSS and HTML so this project will demonstrate my progress in both languages.

Ship #1

I made a calculator right before the 2026 spring break cycle at my school. When creating that calculator, I followed a step-by-step tutorial. I did all the coloring myself, but that felt more like a test run.

I was thinking of many ways to display my new abilities in CSS, and thought, “Why not make a version 2 of my first calculator?” I built this from scratch and applied everything I learned in the past 3 months. I feel great about this project since it only took ~2 hours, and it’s something I can tell people I made on my own.

I will admit I did fork the JavaScript code because I haven’t set aside time to learn the language, but maybe version 3 could be me creating a calculator without forking from a previous project. I also used GitHub Copilot to figure out how to place the display section of the calculator next to the Kirby PNG.

web-calculator v2 is COMPLETE.

I polished the buttons and gave them some color. I embedded a Kirby PNG, similar to my first iteration. I added a button click sound :) I hope you all enjoy testing out and using this calculator

I’m making a Kirby-star themed calculator! This is an upgrade from my first “mymelody” calculator from 3 months ago. I just added the buttons, and I’m currently working on making them work in JavaScript.
