Escape the Immortal Witch of Gaeia!
Escape the Immortal Witch of Gaeia!
I couldn’t find the tut for the mini-game I wanted to make, so I used what I know about gdscript and created this. The player basically has to avoid the witch’s magic in order to make it to the other side. I just finished the code today, but I want to change the tree on the other side into a crossroad sign.
The game is technically done, but it’s not polished yet. I might be able to finish this before the end of this week.
Whew! I finally finished the guide! I now have to look for the tut I need for the third game. Today’s agenda is done except for the player animation.
Anyways, here’s mini game 2.
I finished my first mini-game (hoorayyy!!) I added the soundtracks and more colorful assets into the game. My next goal is to animate the sprites I added in the timer screen and the first mini-game. I have to figure out how to play the animation in-game and not just have it stuck there.
If I heavily lock in, I might finish this before August ends. Anyways, here’s mini game 1.
I finished the title screen and timer screen. I’m proud of my current progress with the visuals and soundtrack. However, somehow the buttons stopped working? It’s weird, I ran at least 5 debugs but nothing showed. There’s probably some weird line of code in the system that’s holding it back, but either way I’ll try to fix it tomorrow.
Lots of progress!!! I finished creating my own soundtrack yesterday and I just implemented it in the game. I’m currently following a tutorial right now on gdscript and pixel art.
I hope I’ll be able to finish this by September!!
DEV LOG 002 - I revamped the title screen and chose the palette and font. I might be able to finish the title screen by tomorrow once I’m done drawing the background. I’m still thinking whether I should add music or not. Either way, this is tonight’s progress!
DEV LOG 001 - ok so I may have jumped into the mission without any planning but I think that’s okay since I’m still starting the tutorial. I think I’ve had enough of wrestling with the code tonight. Anyways, here’s what I’ve done so far. I really gotta work on the design tomorrow.
