I made OrbitOS. OrbitOS is a personalized WebOS inspired by our solar system (space). My main challenge was debugging, a lot of debugging because of slight syntax errors which were extremely frustrating. Other than that HTML and CSS weren’t too hard, but JavaScript was really challenging for me mainly because it was a really new thing. I am really proud that it came together, and also that I didn’t switch projects because the goal was to be under 5 hours and its been a gruesome 12 hours of debugging and trying my hardest to understand JavaScript. Also I am really surprised that I somehow did the Calculator app before the Fun Fact one, basically I did the hard app before the simple one. The app “icon” is the middle text at the top bar and the 2nd one is the calculator, also note that the OrbitOS in the top left is also interactable and also all windows are draggable even if there is no Grab button. Hopefully you enjoy my project and no issues pop up!!
Final addition was the Fun Fact app. Clicking the middle text of the top bar opens a window that has cool fun facts about our solar system and you can get new facts every time you click the New Fact! button. ( There is a limit to how many different facts there are ). As it seems OrbitOS is fully ready to be launched!
Somehow it is slowly coming together :). If anyone has any tips on what I could improve on I would love to hear them. ( Also try translating the binary on the calculator screen! )
Working on the calculator ( aka trying to make it run somehow). Also why does javascript not make sense for me, like man come on :(
