Finished 3d printing the components. stator and cap turned out beautiful while the casing was a little sketchy but still will do the job. Had to sand off part of the supports because they had melted into the bottom layer of the casing on one side. I am going to have to scrap the spacer because my screws are not long enough but i do have these little extension peices that give enough room to hold the bottom cap and then nuts and washers on the bottom to secure the assembly. I stuck with the original design for the stator because im worried about overheating or loading too much weight on the outside of the print. I printed all of these in abs for maximum strength and heat resistance. All parts were printed at 20% infill except the stator with 60% to make sure an arm does not snap off. Next step will be wrapping the coils and final assembly.
Design2.1 and started 3d printing. Question do you guys think that the inital design that im printing or the updated version of the stator (part that holds coils) will be more efficent? I think the new version will be better becuase it puts more copper and material closer to the magnets to get a stronger push. However as i showed I allready started printing and am reluctant to shift so quickly. Other minor updates: Separated spacer and bottom “cap” to 3d print eaiser because i wanted an encave on the bottom to thread the wires through to give a more polished look. The orange circle is to connect to the bottom if I want to attach it to something later. Im 3d printing in abs to have more heat resistance than pla and to be a bit stronger.
Brushless Motor-Had to redesign the motor after some research needed 6 12 or 24 spokes to coil the copper around but i had 8. (Multiples of 3 because the electronic speed control takes 3 wires.) Also updated the casing to hold the magnets in specfic spots instead of just a carved out area around the whole circle. Also designed a bottom to hold the interior flush with a surface so it can be safer and more useful. Put 8 holes in the bottom so i can thread the wires through there
Just Finished the 2.0 sketches v1.0 was just me playing around in cad software so i scrapped it for precision and functionallity I really didnt know anything just recreating something I had seen earlier
