All Tabla players need baby powder to keep their hands dry while playing. However, we tend to forget it when we are so involved in a performance. This moisture causes the Tabla to be damaged, as the black part of it (the "Saadham") starts to dissolve. To combat this, I am creating a powder dispenser that detects the humidity of the player's hands and automatically dispenses powder.

Hey guys! Still working on my powder dispenser. I know that it is a little early to start my CAD design, but I didn’t wanna do any more coding.

Here’s what I got done:

Started working on the CAD file for the box the powder would be deposited in. Took a long time to try to decide whether to go with a hinge or a sliding cover.

But now, the box has a sliding function that will allow the box to open and close to dispense the powder.

The box currently is around 3 cm by 3cm by 3cm without the cover, with the cover the height is now 3.8 mm.

The box cover currently has a tolerance of around 0.2mm with the lid. Idk if that is really enough, but let me know if you guys think I should change it.

I have already attached a photo for reference.

Hey guys! This is my first devlog for the Tabla powder sensor. More about it in the bio of this project.

Here’s what I got done:

Just started on the code for the temperature sensor. trying to get it set up so it could also be interpreted into commands that the servo can use.

Am using the DHT 11 sensor for anyone curious.

Am also going to be using an Arduino Uno R3 for the microcontroller, so I will be inputting this code to Arduino IDE once I get that setup with Hackatime

Started off by creating a function to just start checking whether the readings from the sensor are not toofat and are reasonable. Having a little trouble with pointers, but did get it figured out after watching a few videos.

The code timing looks short because I started halfway in the same folder that contained another project before I figured it out.
