Hello everyone once again! I am back with a nother devlog. This time I will be talking about the new visuals for the game and player and enemy interactions.
Everything new:🔥
I have been having so much fun making this game. I love going back to look at the old footage I have filmed of the game and see how much has changed. With every devlog I’m getting closer to shipping the game. Even though a lot needs still to be done to get to that point I’m still very happy with what I have made so far.
I’ve had a lot of problems before getting the parallax background to work properly but somehow I got it to work! One of the things I have been wanting to add was a enemy which finally is here now. Currently I only got one enemy who doesn’t do much but still it’s at least something for now and I will be definitely adding more in the future. A lot of things still need to be added like player health ui and sprites need to be made for the enemy and hopefully I will have those things for the next devlog!
In the next devlog you can hopefully expect:😁
Oki, that’s it for this devlog! See you soon!!!! 🤑
Hey everyone! I haven’t posted for a few days but that’s because I have been doing a lot of work on the game. So far everything is coming along very nicely.
Everything new:
So as you can see I have added quite a few things but there is still a lot for me left to do until it’s an actual game where you have something to do. Probably the biggest things that I have added are the player attack, checkpoints and menu. Other are just visual changes and some tiny value and number changes here and there. I also changed the grass sprite cause I wanted to add a wind shader on the grass but I ran into a problem that when the grass has an outline then it disappears sometimes to who knows where or there are suddenly more black pixels than there should be. So I decided that I will just remake the texture and replace the old ones. I have also added wind particles which I had already made earlier but it didn’t look very good before so I had to tweak the settings around here and there until it looked right. I think that it still could be a little better but for now it will do just fine. I also have already written some lore for the game and what that game is going to be about which I will start working once I have all of the main systems that I would need to start building the game.
I will hopefully be working next on:
Keep in mind that I won’t probably have added all of those things by the next devlog but definitely some.
Anyways, thank you so much for reading my devlog! I hope to see you in the next one!!!🥰
Hey everyone! In this devlog I have made mostly **visual **changes.😆
All changes:
I have done actually quite a lot since the last devlog and piece by piece eventually I will have a full functioning game. But to get there there is so much still to do. Anyways the biggest thing I worked on in this devlog is obviously the visual side of things. I wanted to game to look a bit more pleasing on the eye when developing the game. The character design might not be final but I am very proud of myself for this result since I don’t usually do pixel art at all and I thought it might be a nice challange and an opportunity to learn something new while making this game. So far I’m loving making art for this game cause it’s so fun but also hard for me since one wrongly placed pixel can ruin the effect so easily and look wrong overall. I’ve still got to do some work on the grass since it might look a bit tall next to the player cause I’m going for a pixel perfect game and using 16x16 for both the player and grass sprites.
I’m also working on a wind shader to give the grass some movement. But yeah that’s all, and I’ve got a lot to do so.. see you in the next devlog. Byeee🥰 !!!
Yayyyy a new godot project!!😆😆😆
There is nothing more exciting than starting a new game development project and opening up the fresh new project window.
What I have done so far:
I’m trying to make a pixel perfect system something like in Celeste so that the game would look extra clean😁 . It doesn’t look that great rn but I’m going to start making art soon when I have the basic stuff setup.
That’s all for this devlog but see you very very soon in the next one!!! byeeeee🥰 !!!!!!!!
