After A long hiatus I have produced the biggest update to PyFi so far! Coming with ui improvements, dynamic song location saving and persistence (allowing it to read songs from a network drive or USB stick, etc, and saves the locations in such a way that at any point in the future you can reconnect the storage and it will auto load the songs again), the framework for album creation and viewing, language improvements and refinement as well as the ability to drag songs to reorder them in the playlist viewer plus a bunch of other stuff I did a while ago that I quite frankly, cannot remember lol. I’m very excited as PyFi is almost feature complete!

Absolutely gargantuan update today! First of all, I fixed formatting and text for the labels and volume slider. Fixed a few bugs surrounding the album art being displayed. Added in a playlist viewer like Spotify and such which displays the tracks, album art and artists. I added a settings json file that PyFi saves to in order to save all of your settings to in order to make them persistent between sessions. Another feature / happy coincidence, Pyfi is compatible with Network Attached Storage, being able to pull and do playback from one. I want to add the ability for song locations to be saved between sessions so you don’t have to upload the songs every time you launch, fixed the formatting of album art, make it so the playlist viewer actually tells you what track is selected and a full album uploader / viewer incorporating the Favourite button.

A big update this time! While this isn’t the best example, PyFi is now able to pull album art from mp3s and other such formats and display it like Spotify or Apple Music. I have also added various other new features such as the ability to change the Ui language within PyFi to English, Spanish, French, Hungarian or Swedish currently supported and translated accurately (not by translate!). The user is now able to select from a wide range of Ui colour options to style PyFi to their liking with font styles possibly being an option in the future. I have also added support for EQ settings and presets, allowing the user to select from a wide range of options such as Classical, Techno, Bass boost and many, many more to customise their listening experience to their exact preference. A minor change but I have changed the next and previous buttons to be icons until you hover over them, at which point they display text telling the user what the button does. Finally and most importantly I have added a playback scrubber and playtime, allowing users to select specific parts of their songs to listen to and track how long is left.

PyFi now actually plays audio files! Using vlc as a framework, the user is able to provide an audio file (of almost any variety) and PyFi can play it back, even with a functional volume slider.

Improving on ui design and scalability, including adding support for a dynamic amount of frames and window sizes. Improved the outputs from the buttons and tickboxes and buttons as well as making it so the play/pause button actually changes text whenever you click it to represent what it will do. I also added in window pinning functionality that allows the user to pin PyFi above all of their other apps easily and unpin it all the same.

I am creating a python based music and mp3 listening software that is a from the ground up remake of a basic mp3 player I made a year or 2 ago with increased functionality and an updated, modern UI. Here I am practicing and blocking out the UI with customtkinter, something that I have never used before (I used pygame for the last one) but am finding very intuitive and useful. I am able to add check boxes and buttons that can have custom outputs as shown in the terminal, I can’t wait to do more! The UI also scales perfectly to any resolution and window size, something I learnt was very important from my first html project lol

I made a basic html based about me page which is dedicated to introducing myself and my interests. It is my first time ever coding in html, using vs code and deploying a project on github, so I’m very proud of what I’ve been able to achieve! I hope it’s decent enough to be shippable and I can’t wait to improve :3

My final version! Fixed YouTube links, replaced the placeholder image, further expanded the content and improved formatting. I’m still not amazing at this, but I had lots of fun, and am looking forward to learning more!

It’s been a very long time since I last used HTML so I am loosely following the tutorial and am practicing my writing + coding skills by talking about my projects and passion for computer hardware, while also trying to remember the various html codes again lol
