Heavily touched up that todo section & card appearance. Still got lots of issues to work on.As for new features, I’m working on adding canvas search, grade analytics, dashboard notes, local themes, planner tasks, and a better sidebar.Given that this project was initially a fork of CanvasRefined (though it has diverged by a large amount), I’m working on adding the new features/bug fixes to this extension as well.

AYYY its coming together! The cards are now loading properly, the settings actually controls stuff, and the rings are coming together. Though, I can’t seem to figure out how to hide courses without active assignments from the ring design.

After I finish all the UI changes I can think of, I’ll go through and completely revamp the settings popup (it’s mad ugly right now).

I may have broken the todo list section… But I’m still working on it and improving the design. I going for a rainbow style layout with a 3 column toggle for assignments and announcements

The calendar is currently still off, but I’m almost done with a fix by utilizing timezones properly. The status of each class isn’t completely accurate right now, but it should come together soon!

I’m working on improving the calendar UI and adding .ics share features. It’s a long process, but I’m almost there for production release. The goal is to allow for .ics calendar link creation for simulated courses.

Still working on improving the sidebar, which is suprisingly difficult to make look good. As for the todo list bar, I’m hoping to make it more like a rainbow and the tasks list to be easier to read.

I’m trying to create a design similar to this…
Still a work in progress though
My Canvas page now looks broken with my WIP design, which is not good :(

Ship Changes requested

Thank you all for the feedback from my first three ships. I have focused more on the codebase and bug fixes. All the bug/issues from my last ship are addressed now! Shoutout to the people who put their time to bug find :)

To those who review this ship, please share any issues you had with the website, whether it be a broken link or something simply looking bad.

I am starting a project by forking CanvasRefined and connecting it to Nest.APStudy.org (my productivity project), as well as adding new features to make it easier to use myself.

Improvements:

  • Rebranded the extension (whilst keeping previous creator credit).
  • Replaced the old settings screen with the new Edit Canvas workspace and compact-to-expanded navigation (essentially redesigned the popup and settings UI with clearer categories, spacing, focus states, and reduced-motion support)
  • Added settings search with keyboard shortcuts and accessible live status updates.
  • Improved course-card editing with previews, custom names, codes, images, visibility controls, saving, and reset actions.
  • Added a settings-migration runbook for moving data from CanvasRefined to APStudyCanvas.

Move changes to come!

REFACTOR + BUG FIXES COMPLETE!

After ~40 hours, I completed a large application-wide refactor, added collaborative note review tools, and focused heavily on reliability :)

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed calendar feed validation (you can no longer add random links) and syncing issues with read-only collaborative notes.
  • Fixed duplicate cookie-consent dialogs and the privacy-details link (shout out to the ones who caught it in ship #3!).
  • Fixed Nest Announcements rendering errors.
  • Fixed chat messages failing after the first send, leaking between rooms, or appearing only after a refresh.
  • Fixed file uploads, including CSRF handling, error responses, and cleanup after failed uploads.
  • Fixed task priority, deadline, recurrence, and floating-menu interactions becoming unresponsive (it was pretty annoying).
  • Fixed logout behavior (thank you to the one who caught this!)
  • Added profile length validation (thank you to the one who caught this in Ship 3!)
  • Improved GitHub authentication diagnostics and callback/session handling (again thanks to the one who caught it in ship 3!!).

Improvements

  • Split large chat, notes, calendar, dashboard, file, onboarding, and admin systems into focused modules and services so they can be tested and changed independently.
  • Reworked chat synchronization to be more stable.
  • Reduced duplicate chat, presence, notification, and database work.
  • Consolidated templates and shared frontend styling into a more consistent design (yay!).

Major Features

  • Added inline comments to shared notes, including ‘anchored’ discussions, editing and deletion, review events, and suggestions.
  • Added administrative calendar-feed health reporting so broken or unsafe subscriptions are easier to diagnose (for admins).
  • **Major architectural refactor across 200+ files!!
