I got the idea, then I had to figure out how to do it. I lowkey will have to use a lot of AI in this project (to learn, not to make stuff for me) because there is nothing online to help me learn about how this stuff works. I then spent a lot of time trying to find a schematic. there are none, so I had to make one myself.
I had to redo some of the schematic, but i finished and I finished the PCB!
I grinded and finished the schematic, and started routing on the PCB. there are some questionable things I tried, so i gotta see if those work
I changed my idea, and I will build a small AR display kind of like this one. I couldn’t find a display that would work with the beam splitter cube, but after a while, I found one. I’m also thinking of using a different microcontroller than my originally intended Pi 4B that I have lying around, because I will need it for a different project, and I want to see if I can use a smaller ESP-32 to make it more compact, so you can put it in your pocket, and sneak it around. I’m thinking of having the camera kind of like a lavalier mic, that you can clip onto your shirt.
I decided that I’m going to make it with augmented reality glasses, with a small screen in your view that tells you what to do. Its probably going to connect with a USB cable to the raspberry pi, which you should be able to just put in your pocket.
So the people I contacted about the CNC service said it would be too expensive, so I’m going to 3D print it out of Polycarbonate (the stuff bulletproof glass is made out of)
I arranged the pieces, and I also added 2 extra arms, because of one breaks in a crash, I don’t want to have to get it remade. I also contacted a local CNC service, and they said they get back to me later today for an estimate.
I finished the frame and I got in some cool 3D Renders too!

I finished my landing pads, and I tried to slice them on Bambu Studio, but I couldn’t turn off AMS, and I couldn’t select the TPU option because of that. Ill figure that out later.
(っ °Д °;)っ I just realized that I still need to make the 3D printed parts. So, I grinded the camera mount that will fit between the spacers

Finished the frame, and I created all the plates. I also added all the screw holes. I had to move the flight stack to the back though, and I might need more wire for the motors to connect to it. I actually had 2hrs and 15min that wasn’t able to get logged. For the first bit, after I finished and was ready to save the timelapse, I got an error saying that if failed. this was when I created the bottom plate and added screw holes. then, I spent more time the next day creating the plates, ad adding holes for that. This time, I accidentally closed the tab, and I couldn’t submit my timelapse. I have a screenshot of that timelapse, but I can’t submit it anymore. so, my time spent on this project is the shown time + 2hr 15min
I added all the screw holes and made the arms! YAY! But… I had to change out my motors for slightly more expensive ones that are a little less sketchy, and didn’t have the screw holes in random places without even saying what screws they used. And, the motors are hot pink, so thats gonna be my color theme! Im going to black everything out, and then have the motors and the landing pads (will make later, as they can be 3D printed out of TPU) hot pink.
I figured out what I wanted to make, and I started it. I watched a video about building a drone, and i found all my parts. I also started on making my drone chassis in blender. I started making one of the arms today. I made them so they would perfectly converge in the middle in a square shape, so that the plates would be able to connect to them easily and firmly. Now, I just need to add the screw holes to finish the arms
I researched the parts, and built the 3d model. now, I just have to figure out how to slice it.
