website changes : about page reworked and moved to the right , extra was replaced with support , projects page now has penumbra icon when clicked , project echo still has no icon though ,,,,, oh yeah all projects were renamed :Eternal midnight=Eternity,,catalyst=penumbra ,,,wayfinder=echo

biomes using resources (finally made proper environments )

Changelog

• first, I used a dictionary that would have all the information about each biome, like name, ground texture, things that are available to spawn, amount of things that can spawn, and size variation of things that can spawn
• after it was getting efficient (i was plan on changing the method regardless), I used resources
• made a chunk node which is 50x50 and takes a biome variable, so I can just import biome resources into it and it automatically gets updated 👏
• created biome_data.gd and made it extend resources
• made wasteland_biome.tres and ’glacier_biome.tres`, both resources with all the information above and all I have to do is attach it to a chunk
• made the contents spawn in random locations in the chunk with varying amounts, varying types (for example there are 2 kinds of dead trees in the wasteland so each one is a random type), and varying sizes

Next steps

• make enemies native to certain biomes where they spawn automatically in their biome
• make biomes go smoothly into each other, maybe using a river in between
• add more wasteland enemies
• more content variation for wasteland and glacier
• edit the eye monster fsm so it walks around when it doesnt see the player
• something else that i forgot

Notes

Remember how a while ago I said I hate resources, well now they’re my favorite thing, they’re really useful and in this context, a giant lifesaver. the 3rd video shows how easy I made the process using resources. great progress so far, i think I can really get an xbox soon

i know i’m shipped the project already but i just noticed that i forgot to add the announcement page , sorry stardance team

i uploaded the project to github to check for issues , where i noticed that the About page background goes dark , i spent a lot of time trying to find the issue , and wondered why it only happened after upload since it was fine with local host , after i decided to go with f12 , i found the problem ! (this is the last time i’m using dark reader , don’t even need it …)

after some pain (more then 14 hours) with html and css tutorials , i discovered that 1: i’m not the type that understands that i watch using tutorials , 2:that i wasted about 14 hours of my life for nothing
n about 2 hours i READ and edited the website, hopefully with the next edit i will ship it (the only thing left is to edit “ABOUT ,PRODUCTS , EXTRA “ sections)

i finished the icon , i think , the colors were mostly what made this take long , i just keep changing the colors of items for no literal reason! , i would like any suggestion and if you got an advice feel free to leave it here, i will be thankful
