I DID THE PCB LIKE I ACTUALLY DID IT all the wiring is done and i have the files to get it printed like LETSS GOOOOO but yeah so i have screenshots of everything here i have to update the repo with this and then the next thing will be the headset design and then the firmware last and then followed by the controller firmware first then controller pcbs and i already have designs in mind, anyways my gf tells me not to work so much cuz i will get burnt out so since this a monumental step i will be taking a break tmrw as its sunday, ill do my 5 mins and then take in my gf’s words a well deserved rest then im going to make my partner absolutely slave away on the full hmd design under my supervision and then ill start with firmware, ig tmrw ill just setup github desktop and get the current hades firmware and start yk, have a great day or night whoever you are, much love -oxy (also shipping i will actually be shipping YAY it will be the first ship done once i have the hmd stuff fully done)

so i spent more time fixing up the printer as everything has to be functional for when i have the PCBs in hand and have them done cuz if i have to focus and put attention on it then that’s gonna be absolutely shit so i want to get everything relating to the printer out the way first and i think its gone well, outside of a lot of stringing for some reason i have really good and clean prints and i am happy with my “lightly” modified ender 3, the next thing i am moving to is going to be a big enclosure for it so i can work with ASA filament to be able to make strong and resistant prints, i already have a very nice spool sitting around, also i have to build a filament drying system cuz eventually like carbon fiber nylon ill print on my ender and all but yeah so regarding PCBs i have low key been procrastinating doing them because i am always tired after gym at like 6am and then staying up late with my gf but yea ill fix my schedule and tomorrow i will start on them, promise, ill also post a dev log abt what i did and such to start tomorrow, regarding PCBs again though i might be cooked cuz i think out of me and my partner i might have to cover them in costs which might be absolute hemorrhoids because i have like 4.57 euros in my bank account, no extra cents laying around or nothing, genuinely i am broke as shit.

we are moving to SLAM based tracking, a massive amount of work was done so ive completed the BoM other than pcbs and filament, so i made the bom did the theory work on all components needed and uh im almost done fixing my fuckass ender 3 which is like a ship of theseus at this point with the ammount of modification ive put it through, but yeah most of my work was finding the right components making sure they would work together etc so now i just need to get the parts, design the pcbs and the shell and build the mechanical parts like for ipd and the lens array whatchamacallits oh yeah we are making like pseudo pancake lenses following this paper https://opg.optica.org/oe/fulltext.cfm?uri=oe-32-25-44164 and in big part this hackday project https://hackaday.io/project/187343-the-psuedopancakes big thanks to the authors of both sources, also as this will be loosely off hades vr big thanks to them you can learn more about them at https://github.com/HadesVR/HadesVR also of course ORB-SLAM3 which you can see here https://github.com/UZ-SLAMLab/ORB_SLAM3 but yeah now i have to split up work for me and my partner and ofc buy the parts which will hurt as it totals 570 ish euros which is diabolical but its all gonna be open source and be a smd made vr headset people can modify and make their own versions of, i really hope lots of people like it, ill attach below some pictures from my work, i hope you have a nice day or night whoever you are reading this and sorry for any grammatical errors and such.

so so so much work also i could have sworn i already posted a devlog for this, whatevs its fine lol, so i have all this stuff done for the pcbs and ive started soldering imus and promicro boards in the mean time before i do anything else with ordering my pcbs cuz im broke as shit and cant afford nothing lmao, but yeah so this is what ive made, later ill remake it all smd and MAYBE i add slam tracking capabilities to this headset and its controllers, thats so much more work tho especially the controllers, we will see i suppose, oh and also john locked tf in and got our model started, will drop a pic of that too ofc

MASSSIVE MASSIVE UPDATES PEOPLE, so i have added like so much and a bunch of polish, check the new readme for everything but in short i added every suggestion i got on the like ship review and i did a bunch of other stuff too, theres still code for a calculator but i aint basic and decided last second to visually remove it but i belive u can still summon it thru terminal, fun little easter egg for yalls ig lol, also idk when stardance will decide this is complete for the webos1 quest but yeah i love this and love working on it and hope you all do too, if youre new please check the readme ofc

i just cant figure out fusion360, ill try kicad ig hopefuly its bettert ort maybe i follow hackpad guide to learn pcb in fusion

im like learning the basics of like making pcbs now in fusion 360 as thats one of the big parts of my work, as im doing, well im doing a bit of everything but my friend cant do pcbs so i will but uh yeah i got fusion and uh started writing what i will need to do for the project in obsidian

i rekon this will be the final update i made it in big part cuz i messed up the ship and didnt add anything in text there T-T, anyways i added pong for this one, and a sound to the terminal when u recive the response to a command, i think its come together all quite nicely and im happy with my work, if you want to see all the files they are over on github at:

final devlog its done now ive added a settings app, resizable draggable windows, better notes, propper fetch typing sounds, the list goes on IM GOING TO SHIP IT NOW YIPPIE, i hope everyone likes it :)

okay this as is from my phone ikr it’s not great but yeah lots of changes first of all way more functionality in the notes app, also the terminal app is super cool and works now with a little art for the fetch I’m working on fixing up a bunch of bugs lol mainly the notes app is fucked and the fetch command in the terminal, the next like next thing I wanna add before shipping is a little tutorial in the notes app for people to follow and a clock on the main screen, I’m really happy so far with how things are going, the new music app is awesome and Im very happy with the like little music notification popup which is cute, a fix for the gallery was also made so now I have the ability to open multiple images, tommorw I will wake up at 4am so I can put down the final touches and finally ship this baby, oh yeah also this is fully hosted on vercel now, Ik it says I didn’t spend much time in ide so far but I spend most my time in my browser debugging and doing lots of stuff there, I hope you guys like the project, apologies for the bugs and yeah, have a great night or day everyone <3 (edit from the next day i just realised it cut the screen shot lmao T-T)

A little start for our little project

so i got the repo up, i got bagel who’s my friend working on this with me to install github and an ide and i implemented a whole bunch of features with little draggable windows, sounds, cookies and like a lil welcome creen, i still need to add like alot alot more but this is a good start and yes at this moment in time its like ai that i used to make most of this as i lowk came home from a tiring day andjust wanted to get started, tho i dont use ai for most of my projects and all the design and ways things work are overseen by us, rn i wanna add like a functional terminal and the welcome screen slides in after cookie screen instead of appearing, alot more apps etc, id be happy for all and any feedback and im so happy to be working with the stardance challenge :D anways have a great day / night every one <3
