Hellooo! I am Sadman (yes thats my real name), a 12 grade student who aspires to revolutionize his countrys aerospace field! Deeply regret finding out about stardance much later on, its so fun! Help me get some parts to pursue my goals. Happy testing!

hi. i js built custom Web Audio API synths for pitch shifting launch sweeps and sub bass collision impacts without having to use any external mp3 files. also updated the physics loop with inelastic collision detection so planets smash, merge mass and conserve momentum instead of overlapping. these damn typos are so annoying man

finally got orbital pathing working so planets stop teleporting around like ghost vectors and actually leave some cool glowing motion trails on the canvas. i put a trail: [] history array onto every body, clamped the recording to 30 frames inside the physics loop so the canvas doesnt lag into oblivion, drew gradient opacity falloff (ctx.globalAlpha) for every path segment so trails fade out smoothly. also wired up a clean trails toggle in the telemetry sidebar to clear visual clutter whenever it gets too chaotic. the website is still quite laggy and everything just flies away for some reason. gotta fix it.

its 4:18 am and im tired asl. added some more features and now gonna go sleep. added an interactive payload palette directly into the telemetry sidebar so you can toggle between launching standard planets, high-mass stars, and supermassive black holes. also built a purge reset button to wipe the grid clean whenever things get out of hand. ran into some very frustrating layout bugs where vite’s default CSS was locking #root to a fixed width and clipping the UI. reset it completely so now the radar monitor scales edge to edge. goodnight yall <3

gave orbital chaos a total UI overhaul! swapped out the generic dark background for a clean green telemetry radar layout type thing. added a side panel to track active bodies in real time. oh and also swapped the canvas grid for concentric radar circles + crosshairs. updated all typography to fit the theme of monospace. quite proud of the new design compared to what it was before

HELLO THIS IS MY FIRST DEVLOG ON MY NEW PROJECT!
Got the core 2D N-body gravity simulation up and running in react and html5 canvas! built the physics loop from scratch so the planets pull on each other naturally tho its not quite implemented yet, having sm troubles. added a custom click-and-drag mechanic with trajectory previews so u can slingshot planets straight into orbit. ran into a few annoying typos and bugs while setting up bug controls but got em all sorted out. thinking of adding different object types like stars and black holes next! please let me know what you think of the idea guys, would really appreciate it!

Created “Cosmic Gravity Jumper”- a website that lets you calculate your weight on different cosmic bodies by simply inputting your weight on Earth (the one you measure on a weight machine). It also lets you visualize relative gravitational forces in real time by jumping across the celestial bodies!

As this was my first project, the most challenging bit was definitely learning how to code and how physics and numbers correlate with it. Formatting dynamic physics calculations cleanly while keeping the UI looking fresh, minimalistic and responsive was a pain in the butt for sure. Ran into a lot of problems while trying to make the UI look beautiful. Oh and also incorporating the sounds was tough work! though it might seem quite simple but it was honestly giving me headaches while working on it.

I am really proud of how the end product came out to be for my first ever coding project. I love how you can jump on different planets and the moon and compare that to the jump on the earth. Also another thing im quite proud of is the shareable canvas card that you can download to share on social media. It looks really clean and visually pleasing.

To test the project, you just need to simply enter your weight, pick a unit, click calculate and voila! now you can see what you weigh on different celestial bodies! Click on any of the planets/moon to see how high you’d jump on there.

Initial Release

Built the core gravity calculator, interactive jumping simulator with Web Audio sound effects, dynamic starfield canvas background, and social poster generator. Added responsive mobile touch fixes and documented everything through commits and in the README. Live on Vercel!
