Devlog 4 - I worked on the game part of my project. I simplified the jumping mechanic. Now, you only need to blink once with either eye to jump, whereas before, you needed two blinks. There were too many false positives, so I decided to make the input simpler and more reliable. I hope to finish implementing procedural obstacles and some visual effects tomorrow, such as particles and a parallax effect in the background.
Devlog 3 - Some UI design today ! I used Figma AI to help me visualize the design of my eye-controlled game. I’m very happy with the result! I still need to develop the game itself, though. I was thinking of making a game inspired by Geometry Dash, hence the name EyeDash. The controls would be simple: a double blink with one eye would make the character jump.
Devlog 2 - After hours and hours of implementing features for gaze tracking, I realize that it is not enough stable. 3 hours of dev wasted 😭. I think I will reorient the project to a game controlled by eyes blinking. If you have any ideas I’m taker. You can find the version of not stable eye tracking on my github, it’s the file eyeControl/gaze_tracking_attempt.py.
Devlog 1 - I’m working on a webcam-based blink detector, which will allow you to control your PC with your eyes only.
