I’ve started a new project called SpotifyMe. The concept is simple: you connect to the device via Bluetooth and play music (it doesn’t have to be Spotify; any music app works). The screen displays the track’s album art, artist, and playback timeline, and you can skip tracks forward or backward using buttons. You can also adjust the volume by turning a rotary encoder, and pressing it allows you to play or pause the music. On the technical side, the build is based on an ESP32 and uses an ILI9341 display (manufactured by ILITEK in 2011), a KY-040 rotary encoder, a DS1307 RTC module (featuring an I2C interface and 56 bytes of NV SRAM), two buttons, an RGB LED for accent lighting, and three 220-ohm resistors.
