A project to convert a proprietary calendar format into .ics files
Decided to simplify the idea
Originally I was planning on making the program connect with your Google account to make it automatically upload the calendar. But since Stardance is almost ending and I have a lot of other projects I also want to finish I decided on just turning the file into an .ics and just manually uploading the file to Google Calendar.
Below you can see I have already made the program parse the .Shifter into a list of standard classes, so turning that into an .ics file is easy as cake.
Finished importing shifts from file
The file that I am trying to convert has a . Shifter file extension, but is just an SQLite3 database file. So it should be pretty easy to work with, except for the fact that all tables and columns are in Spanish and have no documentation whatsoever. So I made a demo file and used Google Translate to convert all the names, and with some context it is pretty easy to understand the data. I have already made the code that gathers all the shifts from the file.
I should probably explain what this file even is. It is from a program called Shifter from LHRSoft, its goal is to inventarise all your work shifts. My parents use this program as the family calendar, but the problem is that there is no easy way to upload the full calendar to Google Calendar (atleast none that is quick and easy to understand).
