I made a slack bot named Revered Snake. This is a pretty basic slack bot. Although it was very complicated to make, lol. It took me at least 3 hours half of which couldn't be captured by Hackatime. This slack bot runs on the hack club workspace and most commands are seen by all channel members. It has 6 commands:
- Ping or /revered-snake-ping : The app gives a message and latency
- Cat fact or /revered-snake-catfact : Says an interesting fact about cats
- Cat image or /revered-snake-catimg : It gives you the URL of a cat image
- Help or : Says what each of these commands are for.
- Origin or /revered-snake-origin : Says origin story
- Joke or /revered-snake-joke - makes a joke :D

They all use a different API (except origin it uses a text built into it). It runs 24/7 from my laptop.

Dev log 2

Hello, It has been a while, guess what, I finally figured out the README format!! Quick Run down of what happened :

  • Nest got approved
  • caused an issue and had to remake the repo at least 5 times
  • wipe my computer 5 times
  • added a command that lets you have a cat image
  • added an origin story for the app itself
  • added a profile picture
  • people can see its responses!

Final note : This project has given me wonderful insight into creating a Slack bot , will do it again but better. and this to the the creators of the Slack bot guide :

** MAKE THE GUIDE EASIER, I GOT LOST AT LEAST 15 TIMES!!! IT COST ME SOO MUCH TIME.**

Devlog 1 : Setup the app API on Slack and have made the code in Github just as the guide told (they should make it more easier to follow). Now i am just waiting for my application on nest.
