Fifth Devlog:
Yeah so I haven’t done a devlog for this in a while. For any of y’all wondering what happened well I have been working on other projects so I have been kind of busy but here I am with another devlog soo…
Anyway back to what I actually did. I recorded this session a while ago I just haven’t done a devlog yet ,but I was just physically assembling it. I know you guys are probably wondering how assembling can take four hours but but 3 hours and 30 mins of that time was spent trying to figure out why the servo arm wouldn’t fit in the build until a realized that the model I used was for a different type of servo and the servo arm happened to be smaller so ummm.
Moral of the story don’t ever use online models unless you are really down bad. I think I am going to design my own because I don’t want that to happen also why not. Also the image you are seeing is the robotic arm itself(from the online model) and before you guys all go like “Ermm there is actually a servo attached on the top” That one miraculously fits and don’t ask me why or how because I don’t know.
I have designed a new gripper that will work with servos. The screenshot below shows the whole arm with the gripper and I hope to keep having more iterations.
I tried to make another iteration of the Robot Arm. It is not complete yet, but I hope to finish it soon and learn more about 3d modelling. I have designed a completely new gripper mechanism, and I hope it turns out fine. The screenshot below shows the new gripper design.
I have been designing the robot arm and wanted a simulation to see how it would move. The design took a little bit. I was following a tutorial for this iteration, but I plan to have many more versions with a custom design.
This is the robotic arm breadboard and electronics without the case. I plan to use an online model for the case, and the screenshot below shows the code
