Sole Survivor

Don't crease your shoes! I am building Sole Survivor, a fast-paced 2D platformer in Godot inspired by Pizza Tower. The objective is to finish levels quickly without creasing the player's shoes. Core Mechanics: The player dynamically shifts between two movement modes: Normal Mode: Walks upright very slowly. Gives precise control to safely navigate pits and walk over ground hazards (gum, puddles). Handstand Mode: Flips onto hands for a high-speed sprint to smash walls and build combos, but leaves the shoes vulnerable if they hit a ground hazard. Win/Loss Condition: Hitting a hazard while sprinting forces the feet down, causing a "Massive Crease" penalty that lowers the final score. The goal is to finish fast with a perfect, mint-condition shoe rating.

Ship #1

My first ever game's first ship! 🎉🎉
Sole Survivor is a game on Godot inspired by Pizza tower.🍕
It's a funny game with a silly art style where the goal is to NOT CREASE YOUR SHOES (orange air jordan 1 lows)
Unfortunately, you have to travel through a bunch of levels, hoping not to make even a single dent. You can travel on feet, be careful though, or travel much faster on your hands, where your shoes are safe in the air!
Although still in development, this base can still be fun! Go give it a try!

animations are almost done

Last time you saw me use Godot default icon to replace all the textures but this time I was able to draw my own pixel sprites and upload them as animations. It took a lot of refactoring, especially because I didn’t draw the legs and arms, and coded them seperate.
All I have to do next is add the jump and fall animations for handstand mode and animations will be done!

ignore how i died in the video

core gameplay almost finished!

I already had movement, but I added a jump and a working level.
Most importantly, I added the most important feature of the game, being able to switch modes. Right now it’s represented by a flipped sprite2d but i’m going to add animations later.
The headstand mode gives you much faster movement at the cost of reliable controls, so the regular mode is the opposite.
Also the coolest part is that I added controller support and made a way for it to vibrate as well

I finally started my game!

I got the physics engine working and allowed my character to move left and right and jump. I still have a few mechanics to add but that’s for another time.
