Meet Cybra the Cyber Slack Bot! Cybra is a cybersecurity-focused Slack bot designed to educate, inform, and assist users with cybersecurity awareness and best practices. Through simple commands, users can quickly access information about important cybersecurity topics such as phishing, password security, multi-factor authentication (MFA), identity theft, social engineering, malware, online privacy, and more. The goal of Cybra is to make cybersecurity knowledge easily accessible within Slack, allowing users to learn about digital safety without leaving their workspace. Whether someone wants a quick definition, tips for staying secure online, or guidance on recognizing common cyber threats, Cybra provides clear and helpful responses. By combining education with convenience, Cybra helps promote a stronger cybersecurity culture and encourages users to develop safer online habits in an increasingly digital world.

Ship #1

I made Cybra the Cyber Slack Bot. The main purpose of this slack bot is to teach average Slack users about important cybersecurity practices and skills, and can even help someone build their skillset in cybersecurity if they want a career in it in the future. Things that were challenging was making it work 24/7 and I'm certainly proud of being able to finally make some sort of bot and being able to code it! To test my project, the channel is a public channel in the Hack Club workspace! It is best if you try the command "/cybra-help" first in order to see all the commands you can use!

Cybra the Cyber Slack Bot Update! Hey everyone! I’m still actively working on Cybra, the Cyber Slack Bot, and I’ve made some exciting progress. Recently, I focused on developing a system that allows the bot to cycle through and manage a list of messages, making interactions more dynamic and organized. This will help Cybra provide information in a structured way while improving the overall user experience. In addition, I spent time creating and expanding a library of commands that users can access directly through Slack. Since Cybra is specifically designed to promote cybersecurity awareness and education, I have been building commands that provide information on a variety of important cybersecurity topics. Some of these include Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), password security best practices, identity theft prevention, phishing attacks, social engineering, online privacy, and many more cybersecurity concepts that users may encounter in their daily digital lives. As I continue developing the bot, I am also testing each command to ensure it works correctly and delivers accurate, useful information. My goal is to make Cybra both educational and easy to use, helping users learn about cybersecurity in an interactive and accessible way directly within Slack. There’s still more work to be done, but I’m excited to keep improving Cybra and adding new features. Hopefully, the final product will become a helpful resource for anyone looking to strengthen their cybersecurity knowledge and stay safer online!

Hey everyone! Quick update on Cybra the Cyber Chatbot. Right now, I’m focused on getting the Slack integration fully up and running. I’ve been working through a few connection issues between the Slack app and VS Code, troubleshooting the setup step by step to make sure everything communicates properly. Alongside that, I’ve been exploring and testing the chatbot’s available commands to better understand how they function in real-world use. As I experiment with different features, I’m also taking time to dive into the code behind them—learning how each component works, how commands are processed, and how the overall system is structured. This process has been a great opportunity to not only solve technical challenges but also gain a deeper understanding of the development side of the project. I’ll continue refining the integration, testing functionality, and sharing progress as Cybra moves closer to being fully operational within Slack.
