I built this adorable site where you can customize a cake (with flavor, icing color, decorations, fruits, and a candle!) and write a card and get a custom link you can send to anyone you want!

I used Supabase as the database for this, and drew all of the assets myself (as in ALL… including the plate and the animated candle flame!). The checkered background (the idea was from a friend!), I made using CSS so I can play with the size of the boxes and the colors until I found one combo that I liked.

Through this project, I learned more about using the useState feature in React, connecting databases to projects I make, and that drawing for hours at a time can lead to neck pain.

added a feature where u can click the boba, and ur cat will get a boba! this took a while to figure out…
also js some small fixes here and there around the site, like fixing the insta link to my own or fleshing out some new tab ideas for the website.
