Entry #3

I am scraping the pcb due to many reasons

  1. Pcb manufacturing is expensive especially with pick and place

  2. It add unnecessary complexity in my build

  3. Hand wiring is cheaper

Entry #4

-I am finally done with the PCB and the CAD for the pad

-I tried creating the code for the pad. I first tried using QMK, which proved really difficult since there is no keyboard layout that matches my board

-Now I am switching to KMK, but KMK through the POG configurator requires a board with CircuitPython, which I currently don’t have

I have continued my work on the macro pad, in these hours I have redone the wiring for the pcb as I had not used the copper pour for gnd, now the wiring is not that messy

I have also started on my case on fusion 360

I have made the schematic for my hackpad. I have come to a setup with a 4 by 3 switch matrix, RGB light, OLED display and a rotary encoder. This setup uses the max GPIO available on the Xiao, now onto the PCB

I have spent some time making a schematic. This is not my first time trying to make a schematic, as I have some experience with EasyEDA. To make this schematic, I followed a YouTube tutorial by Joe Scotto on how to Design Mechanical Keyboard PCBs with KiCad. I used his provided symbols and other resources for this schematic

This is my final update to the WebOS, I have went onto add five more features into my webOS.

  1. Retractable task bar on the left side
  • Cleaned up the building app clutter into a simple task bar with options to see all other apps
  1. Internet app
  • Search the internet with the option of choosing between 4 search engines!
  1. Pomodoro app
  • A simple pomodoro timer with a 25-minute work period and a 5-minute break period, with pause functionality
  1. Inspirational quotes
  • Quotes on the wallpaper to keep you motivated.
  1. Spotify app
  • Play top 50 music in the world, with limits 😭

This is my finished build of my CozyOS and I look forward to using the skills I have learned from this to build other websites, such as one day, building a personal live website.

Devlog #7

I have revised the app section to now a retractable task bar, simply drag you you mouse near it for the bar to come out. I have also added an additional apps section for more apps.

I have made a cool, warm aesthetic website operating system simulation with various apps named CozyOS

-It has various apps, such as a hydration tracking app, a YouTube player, and a background changer

-One of the many major challenges I faced while making this OS was learning how to code with HTML. The hardest task I gave myself during this project was to make a function that declutters the majority of the code that supports opening and closing apps. I then built on this to control all my windows across all apps. I am very proud of myself for figuring it out without relying on AI

-I am planning on adding to the looks, more apps and functionality in the second part of this mission, further giving me more knowledge and experience with HTML.

-Thank you for checking out my project!
