@NintendoAsh12 on Unity Motion Matching System
I made a motion matching system. It took 11 months and over 200 hours of work. I originally made it for my own project but after seeing how bad motion matchers that were made for unity where I decided I might as well give it a shot and make something others can use. Its not perfect and its quite finicky but under the right conditions as seen by the ITCH.IO demo it can do its job. this project has lead me to tour my local university VICON motion capture set up as well as email the legendary Daniel Holden who did lots of work on a fancy type of motion matching called learned motion matching. if you don’t know what motion matching is it’s a data driven animation technique where it uses a data base of animation frames and associated data to match the best looking movement to the characters current state and player input hopefully delivering the best and most realistic movement possible… if it works perfectly that is. examples of Motion Matching in action is: The last of us part 2 and 007 First Light.
Thank you good people of stardance its been fun. Ash out for now. :-> bye
