Built a personal site! I gave it a dark galaxy + computer vibe and filled it with projects, achievements, and details that actually feel like me. I changed sooo many tiny things along the way, but seeing it all come together was 100% worth it ★
Worked on the firmware and finally finished it!! I added the Coding + Daily modes, got the OLED to show the current mode, added the RGB mode indicators, and set up all the shortcuts. I also got the mode switch working and finished the production firmware🥹
Finished designing my Hackpad case in Fusion 360!! 🎉This part was honestly a STRUGGLE 😭 I ran into a lot of problems with the switch plate, alignment, sizing, clearances, and getting everything to actually fit inside the case. I had to redo and adjust things multiple times, especially the switch plate, but I eventually got everything lined up correctly.I made the bottom case and switch plate, added the cutouts for my 10 switches + OLED, and customized the case with my own engraved designs. After all the fixing and adjusting, I ran an interference check and finally got no interference!! 🥳Definitely one of the harder parts of my Hackpad so far, but I learned a lot about Fusion 360, sketches, extrusions, dimensions, clearances, and troubleshooting when something doesn’t work the first time
finished a huge chunk of my hackpad today!! i also finished the schematic earlier, where i wired the 10-key switch matrix with diodes, connected the XIAO, OLED, and RGB LED, and set up all the row/column pins before moving everything into the PCB layout. sadly i didn’t get a timelapse of that part 😭
then i moved everything into the pcb editor, placed all the components, routed the connections, fixed a bunch of DRC issues, checked the board in the 3D viewer, and exported the Gerber + drill files. i got stuck a few times with the routing, but i finally got it to 0 errors and 0 unrouted connections.
