Main Page Design
~
I think I’ve finally landed on a design I like!

I’m still working on filling it out but this is just a little test to make sure I actually liked it before committing.

The design consists of 88x31s for navigation, linking to friends’ pages, giving information about the site, and later linking to pages that inspired me and that I really like. It’s not particularly advanced or stylish but it’s original and something I like!

Minecraft Page
~
I’ve been struggling to decide on how to theme my main page, so I worked on another page instead!

I wanted a place to share all the mods I’ve worked on in the past so I made a /minecraft subpage for my site! It’s auto-populated via a Flask template pulling from a JSON file.

It turned out pretty well and I have an idea for the main page but it’ll require my finishing some more subpages first.

Basic Progress
~
I’ve got a very simple layout working as well as a nice folder structure and backend. It’s not much so far but I’m trying to move some things over from the last site without just completely copying what I did there.

In the beginning was the raw HTML

~
My old website was pretty cool but my want to keep it 100% compatible with any device that supports HTML 3.2 meant anything I could do on it was very limited. As such I’ve decided to soon retire it to a retro.* page under my domain and work on a newer, more modern page.
~
To start I’ve set up a Python Flask backend (not the greatest, sure, but it works) serving the page. One feature I decided to bring over from my old page was a randomly-generated subtitle on the page that I quite enjoyed.

100% functionality, just not pretty looks. I wanted to get some feedback and see what people think of the app first to then improve those parts before focusing on how it appears.

Functionality should be finished!
~
Sub list items have been fixed as well as saving has been added for them. Functionality should be complete and now I just need feedback!

Lots of time, little improvements.
~
Unfocused typing now focuses on the text box, you can tab around to check/edit items, as well as I attempted to add proper sub items. It did not work.

Deleting, saving, AND better buttons!
~
You can (finally) delete tasks from the list! Also, changes to the list will automatically be saved and persist between reloads! I’ve also added better button handling so if you hold your mouse down and drag it off the button before releasing it won’t go through with the action. Almost done with functionality meaning I can start making it look nice!

Moveable items!
~
I did not realise how much of a pain it was to make moveable list elements, but it’s done! You can now cleanly re-order elements in the list using their handlebars while still being able to do things like double-click to edit them.

You can add new items! Yay!
~
Lots of fiddling with CSS and JS to get things to act correctly but it finally works! (Zero CSS has been put into making it actually look good though..)

Checkboxes!
~
Yes, this took an hour. Yes, I had to make a custom toggle with JS. Yes, I tried styling a regular input type and couldn’t get it to work. No, I don’t want to talk about it. >:{

Just started a new project!
~
Nothing fancy, though. It’s a completely-local task management/to-do list. So, pretty generic. I thought it’d make for a good project to practice more advanced HTML metadata and project-structuring.
