A custom, lightweight full-stack website for my grandmother’s vacation rental property (gîte) in France, designed to showcase the house, manage bookings, and handle inquiries cleanly. It features DirectEdit, an in-browser admin tool I built that lets her easily update texts, photos, and availability directly on the page without touching any code or complex backend dashboards.

What I learned:

I learned how to build a dead-simple, client-friendly editing experience (DirectEdit) on top of a lightweight backend, handle smooth client-side state updates, and optimize high-res image galleries for fast loading times.

I built a clean, lightweight website for my grandparents’ vacation rental gîte in France to replace heavy site builders.

What I got done:
Wrote the full frontend with responsive layouts, an image carousel, and contact forms. Hooked up PocketBase as the backend for content storage and auth.
Built DirectEdit, an inline CMS mode so my grandparents can just log in and edit text directly on the page instead of dealing with an admin panel. Deployed the frontend and PocketBase instance behind Caddy.

I built RoboTrack, an autonomous odometry and telemetry system for LEGO SPIKE Prime robots created for our FIRST LEGO League team, Team REborn. It connects the SPIKE hub over Bluetooth Low Energy to a custom Flutter desktop app to track the robot’s real-time position on a 2D field and visualize 3D orientation (yaw, pitch, roll) from the onboard IMU.

The most challenging part was dealing with hardware constraints. The default storage was way too small, so I had to patch and compile custom Pybricks C-firmware to expand flash storage to 8 KB. Packing waypoints, orientation, and motor snapshots into a strict 8-byte binary format (>BhhBBB) without JSON overhead was tricky, as was debugging math bugs that caused the robot to spin in circles instead of following the coordinates.

I am most proud of the standalone replay engine. The robot can record a run and replay paths and attachment motor positions directly on the mat completely untethered—no phone or PC required during the actual run.

If you want to test it without owning physical LEGO hardware, you don’t need a SPIKE hub: the Flutter desktop app includes built-in mock packet generators (I call it a Virtual Robot) so you can explore the live tracking UI, 3D orientation widget, and data stream right away. Be sure to check out the short 90-second demo video in the repository (https://youtu.be/S3cDEyh_7lM) to see it run on the physical mat!

Finally! The app is complete! I edited and added the demo video (it’s online at https://youtu.be/S3cDEyh_7lM) and the app has been polished overall, with smoothness as priority.
Please go check it out, this has been one of my biggest projects yet, and I really loved making it and I will probably continue working on it in the future. Stay tuned, and happy Stardancing!

Wooohoo, it can actually sync to the robot and read the flash! With bi-directional communication, you can send commands and recieve data, like, in the picture below “GETSLOTS” which recieves what slots are occupied! Overall really nice, and I polished it a bit.

Added a virtual/live robot connected mark (so you can actually see if the robot is a mock or not) with a package counter and hopefully working battery indicator in the future! Also better visualisations and less lag due to setState being called every 20ms (which rebuilds the entire page every tick)

The project is getting way better, mostly because of the BLE-telemetry now working and connecting! You can actually see your robot live due to my python changes. Now it’s time to work on recording and changing specific slots.

Getting way better using Flutter, I’m really learning it.
I now have a cool analytics page, starring a location visualisation, battery bar, X/Y and yaw/pitch/roll gyro plus visualisation. I’m ready to start coding Bluetooth communication now.

I’m almost done with the python script, but I started to work on the big boy RoboTrack app, which you can see a visualisation of what the RoboTrack robot thinks. Every grid square is 1 cm and it nearly updates live.
I also implemented some mock data generators. If you do not have a SPIKE robot, you can still test it out because the app emulates a robot.

I’ve started to work on the Flutter Dart Frontend for RoboTrack and made the python script way more robust. It’s hard, really hard to make sure that the hardware-side of this project is doing as it should. It always spins or lives it’s own life.

OMG I was busy for SO long finding ONE simple bug regarding the robot spinning in circles. It was really simple. Most bugs are.
However, I found it out and now it’s getting better every update! I really hope no more bugs show up, but it’s inevitable.

I got motorsnapshots working, so you can program motors other than wheels. This is really important for the robot but really hard to implement with the strict 8-byte limit on each instruction. I managed to get it working by combining signed 16-bit integers and unsigned 8-bit integers.

I finished the framework of the RoboTrack main Python script. It now uses odometry to calculate it’s position and can drive to specific coordinates. It can write bytes to flash memory and can read them.
It’s now time to write a bytecode interpreter to actually give meaning to the written and read bytes.

Cat New Tab is done, a sleek, useful, simple app that just works and lets you search DuckDuckGo whilst seeing cats in between! You can also get a useful cat fact using the free API.

I started to work on the logic for the LEGO robot, it can now track it’s position using sin(rad) and cos(rad) where rad = angle * pi / 180 and applies it to x, y and last_distance.
Sorry sometimes I use devlogs to nerd talk :)

This is CatOS, aka WebOS 2, a better and more complete version than WebOS 1. It has multiple extra features, and even my own music that I composed! Please check it out, I’m very proud that the website turned out so well. It was pretty hard juggling the urge to finish this with the rest of my project, but I learned how to do so.

Oops, I nearly forgot to write the README.
I polished everything and if nothing went wrong it’s now live.

CatAudio is the final app for WebOS 2: an app where you can play two soundtracks composed by the great great…. me??
Guys I really need FL Studio cuz my DAW is feeling like editing audio like MS Paint. However, I’m still very proud. Just a few more changes and then I can ship.

Oohhh, spicy Notepad save/load system and settings panel where you can change the background image, the background transparency (brightness) and even the font.
