I have finished the code and the 3D model. I did most work off camera because I thought it wouldn’t take much time (I was wrong :000: )However, I am still trying to spend as much time as possible to be absolutely sure to get rid of any bugs and inconsistencies.✌️

I made the firmware for the Macro-pad(ig?): :60fps_parrot: So uh I practically relied heavily on the guide and AI for this part because QMK is not exactly Arduino IDE, so I ultimately decided to use VS code for now :0-w-changes: Devlog update: Added more bugs to fix later lol :3-pet-gabe:

Still working on the schematics: I only did about half an hour of work since I’m currently occupied with the firmware for the Macro-pad :3

I started with the schematics for my alarm clock because I was bored of making the firmware for the Macropad :3-grook: (ik lol). There is not much I did so not much to talk about

Completed the CAD and redid the PCB: I haven’t been posting in a while because I decided to complete the enclosure for the macro-pad first. I changed the CAD software 3 times LOL. I went from Fusion to TinkerCAD because I found it quite intimidating at first then from TinkerCAD to Onshape because I found TinkerCAD too basic to make such detailed models without spending too much time.(Maybe that’s just a skill issue LOL). Then I switched back to Fusion because I realised I could just import the PCB as .step file, so I don’t have to manually put in each and every measurement. I also redid the PCB because I had unknowingly let the switches overlap slightly and I thought I should make it smaller. Now, I will begin with the firmware tomorrow. :3-blahaj-spinning: :3-pet:

I made a Sun Tzu themed Slack-Bot! It gives advices, tells jokes, cat facts, roasts you, gives ancient battlefield wisdom and helps you decide like a Magic 8 Ball. The part I found challenging about this project was pushing it to GitHub and making it run 24x7 T_T. The code is pretty beginner-friendly and I believe that you can be a beginner in JavaScript(like me lol) and still understand it.

Sun Tzu the Slack-Bot: Made a Sun Tzu themed bot for when you need a random ancient Chinese military strategist in your workspace. What can Sun Tzu do? 1) Tells you a cat fact because knowledge is power. 2)Gives you ancient battlefield wisdom, because why not. 3) *Attempts to do comedy. 4) Helps you decide when you are unsure whether to eat pizza or follow your diet. 5)Judges you. Sun Tzu wasn’t built to solve humanity’s greatest problems.. but rather to answer humanity’s most important questions, like: “Should I have pizza or not?”

Finished the PCB and Schematics I know I hadn’t been posting a dev-log in a while, but I had been working on the PCB and schematics. Since this was my first PCB design in Ki-Cad, when I finished the designing part, I found out that I had more than 100 errors LOL. Most of them were caused by some footprint errors and me being a complete newbie with the software. So… I re-did it T_T. But now, I have managed to blip the errors out of existence LOL, and I have made the PCB look more futuristic rather than something you would find in an average college project. I am doing the modelling part now, which tbh I think is the most crucial yet simple part of this project. I am too excited to see the end product ;)

PCB designing : I managed to complete the designing of the PCB. I made quite a lot of mistakes and had to redo it multiple times(I accidentally wired the diodes in reverse bias lol). I also tried to make the cable management better and make it more compact. Nevertheless, I learnt quite a lot throughout the process. There are still some errors in the PCB files which I plan to resolve very soon. P.S. Routing the PCB tracers is oddly satisfying :)

Cyberpunk Themed Macro-pad: I started working on the PCB for my cyberpunk-themed macro-pad. I experimented with multiple layouts before selecting one. As this is my first time designing a PCB using a proper software rather than making rough sketches of circuits, it took quite a while to familiarize myself with the software. There is still a lot of work to be done but I already like where it’s going and I can’t wait to see how it turns out in the end :3

Schematics for the Cyberpunk-style Macro-pad I designed the schematics for my Cyberpunk-style Macro-pad. The hardware is built around a Seeduino Xiao, 6 Keys, a rotary encoder, RGB lighting and an OLED panel. The hardware part is relatively straightforward so I intend to make it more unique during the design and coding stages; especially through the overall Cyberpunk-style aesthetic. This is my first dev-log of this project. I can’t wait to see how it turns out in the end :)
