added more trademarked graphics to the back (awesome!)
I have no idea what i’m doing but i was able to get qmk setup with a lot of patience and waiting for files to load, and now i have a rudimentary firmware to push
holy freaking sheet basically went through the pricing for the macroboard and found out that i sized my pcb wrong so i was getting a much higher quote at jlcpcb than what i was actually supposed to get, so i had to redo the edge cuts for the pcb
i was also worried about the clear part of my mounting
board so i found out that jlcpcb also 3d prints resin parts so hopefully i can use their services because it was pretty cheap from what i saw
also about resizing my pcb, i had to completely redo the
case. thankfully, i’ve learned from my past experiences and actually know what i want. basically i was walking blind through my case last time which helped me know a lot about what i needed for my case this time, and decided to simplify it a ton more because the case was pretty complicated last time. also i know how to simplify the pcb so that it actually runs on my onshape this time :)
added more decals and worked on merging the parts for the case so that they’re more easily printable
added the usb c cutout and heatset/screw holes
spent a little bit of time trying to figure out the coloring of this case
trying to figure out the layering for this was hard and mind bending because i have two clear acrylic mounting plates one for the switches and one for the oled screen and to cover the seeed rp2040

in 6 hours i was able to do this and it took forever i hope the firmware doesn’t take this long
it took me 2 hours to try to load a faster version of the pcb into onshape that still takes like 5 seconds to load every time i change something
what I did wrong was that I put the kailh sockets on the wrong freaking side oops and so i had to rewire my entire pcb for the third time this entire project after flipping most of the sockets D:
but it worked out in the end because I was able to get the 3d model working not just for the kailh sockets but for the mx style switches and simple keycaps
this makes my life so much easier… i was struggling so much with the models in cad but then kicad saved my life because i was searching google randomly when i figured it out
forgot to record a bit of it but it doesn’t really matter
i took so long to make this pcb bruh and i didn’t know how to export it for so long to cad until i realized i was being stupid
couple things i did to the pcb:
ive also found ideal candidates for switches to insert in (if possible)
hey at least i get to work on cad ._. im kinda bad at it it’s going to take a while also i don’t have a dedicated gpu so it’s going to take a while
