Finished the PCB
IDK what to talk about this man, im just doing this for a free hackpad and to pass my time cuz im bored
Finished the PCB
IDK what to talk about this man, im just doing this for a free hackpad and to pass my time cuz im bored
I added:
-A LOGO
-My Name
-The fact that it was made on earth by humans
-Its FULL acronym
-A tribute to the golden record
And thats about it! Im waiting on submitting for funding cuz of hackatime issues, but supports is great! if any of yall are reading this, thank yall for putting up with me, and thanks for trying to help so far, hopefully this gets fixed and I can get funded!
MY PCB IS DONE!!!!!!!!
The Avionics Board is DONE! (my hackatime is having a stroke so i should have 15 extra hours but yayyy)
Here is the full BOM -
Components - $120
PCB Manufacturing - $175 (The PCB is gonna be Aerospace-Grade so that the likely hood of manufacturing failures/cracks are low)
Tools I will need, like a heat-gun and soldering iron combo and solder paste - $125
OK SO STARDANCE STOPPED WORKING FOR ME
So i have about another 15-16 hrs on this project, having a total of 19 hrs but stardance just refuses to read it, so YAYYY but i worked on the PCB and im ALMOST DONE!!!!!! It seems like hackatime just cant proscess the big name for my hackatime project and so its crashing out, hopefully this devlog fixes it but i dont have much hope.
I’m ready for funding, as I have most parts figured out and have built in redunancies (like extra parts incase my chudding project fries itself) and the total i need comes out to about $450, hopefully this gets accepted and i can actually do this, if i can, then lets hope this can get shipped, though probably not cuz i have backlogged parts, so lets pray i dont have to find others. Im planning on a white and black design like AVA from BPS Space and if im done, hopefully this get recognized by Joe (Joe, if you’re reading this, then it worked) anywhoo it was a fun project, but doing 10 hrs of work and seeing a 0/15 mins on stardance was rlly infuriating, so if dis dont get fixed, no stardust for me :(
COMPLETE REDESIGN ALSO THE TIME ON THIS IS FALSE I SPENT 3 and 1/2 HOURS ON THIS AND STARDANCE BROKE MY STICKY STREAK BCUS LAPSE/HACKATIME AINT WORKIN
So, at the last moment I decided that the RP2040 wasn’t strong enough for my project, so, instead I switched to the newer RP2354B, which also has built in memory and WAY BETTER cores, but now I have to recode everything because I optimized my code to be on out-of-chip memory, not inside the chip, and it still uses the old 56-pin layout, compared to the newer 80-pin layout of the RP2354B, so now i have to recode all the pins, optimize my code to run at the fastest poll rate I can, and also REDO THE ENTIRE SCHEMATIC BECAUSE I DID THE MEMORY PART, SWITCHED TO THE RP2354B, and now everything I did last time is useless. -_-

Intro
Hi! This is the start of my project, and my first project all together on stardance! I’ve always wanted to do this, so I decided i would knock down 2 birds with one stone, so, this is the start of 2 things for me my stardance project, and my personal goal and something i want for a portfolio. This session, I started off by choosing a few components for my build, made a Bill Of Materials (Off Camera, will be posted down below), and cheaped out on a few things because i need to also buy a heat gun and soldering iron combo with solder paste and some flux for repairs. Finally, next time I’m planning to finish getting all the components figured out and get their footprints, then start making the schematic.
Bill Of Materials -
Raspberry Pi 2040 - $0.80/ea
Goertek Baro SPL07-003 - $0.90/ea (getting 2 of all of these aside from the Pi (which i am getting 6 of) bcus imma make 2 boards, 1 for my Gifted teachers, one for me!)
ST LSM6DS3TR-C - $1.56/ea
LIS2DH12TR Accelerometer - $0.93/ea
12M 16PF 50PPM Crystal - $0.38 (only need 1 becuz 1 order is around a min of 100 crystals, each crystal is $0.0038)
CSA0201C0G270J500ET Capacitor - $0.03 (I get 20 for $0.03)
and more but i still have to put more and i don’t feel like writing down 25 items.
