Introducing Seal: Replacing OEM Laptop Bloatware with a 1.6 MB UtilityModern gaming laptops cost thousands of dollars, yet OEMs still bundle them with sluggish, bloated background services (OMEN Gaming Hub, Armoury Crate, PredatorSense) that eat up over a gigabyte of RAM, run persistent telemetry, and even push ads.I wanted total control over my machine without the bloat, so I built Seal — a lightweight, single-executable gaming utility written in C# and WPF. It talks directly to the hardware’s BIOS mailbox and ACPI WMI interfaces (hpqBIntM, ASUS_WMI, Acer EC) to control fan curves, switch power profiles, configure RGB keyboards, and monitor real-time temps with zero background services. In this first session, I:Finalized the standalone 1.6 MB executable build with no external dependencies required.Embedded my custom chrome emblem across the app window, navigation rail, and tray telemetry.Tested custom fan-curve logic and thermal safeguards to ensure safe cooling under load.Pushed the source code, build scripts, and multi-vendor hardware documentation to GitHub.Next up: expanding custom hotkey support and fine-tuning the in-game overlay!
