A undyne fight like game, but instead of a shield it’s a sword!
Lots of updates, all culminating in one post:
Spawning mechanics: At set intervals, waves of arrows are programmed to spawn in. Additionally, the size, speed and behaviour of the arrows change as time goes on.
Second level in progress: With level one done, the next one is planned to introduce new mechanics and a shield?
Stamina bar: A skill ceiling element in the game, this feature prevents mindless spamming and encourages well timed hits.
A focal point background: I made this background so it directs attention the the player, increasing focus and engagement without clutter.
Death, victory screens: GUI elements….
Finally, I made new arrow variants: Small, Towering, Speedy and Timed.
added an arrow that moves towards the player in my game. Currently, it is just one node triggered on keypress, with no collision.
Planning on adding blocking it next
Created the base slashing mechanism and sprites! The sword on the left is my stamina bar.
I am a complete beginner to Godot and making this was challenging, especially understanding how progress bars worked and creating a tween.
