I designed and modeled a complete 3D violin from scratch using Onshape. The most challenging part was getting the curved body geometry and intricate details of the violin correct. I am really proud of how the final assembly turned out, and you can test it by opening the public Onshape CAD link.

Devlog 7
I’ve just about finished the final touches; all that’s left is to build the stand and add the very last details. I’ll be releasing it in the next devlog.

So… I’ve solved the color issue and handled the final touches. I’ll work a bit more on the finishing details, then build a stand to mount it on—and that’s it. It should be ready very soon; I think maybe two more updates from now. Hopefully, it’ll be finished sometime tomorrow.

I’m almost done; I really just have a few final touches left and need to make it stand upright. I probably won’t have time to add an arch, since I really need to wrap up this project and get back to studying. I don’t know why—I didn’t do anything to it—but it decided to turn purple; I’ll check everything over and then close out the file and the project.

I’ve more or less put all the parts together; all that’s left is to add textures, finishing touches, and a stand. I’m not sure if I’ll make a violin bow, too—I tried, but I really couldn’t get the hair right; if I do make one, it’ll probably be without the hair.

I continued working on the violin; I had already crafted almost the entire lower half and the ornamentation for the middle section.

Hi,
I want to say upfront that this will probably be pretty bad, since it’s the first time I’m writing a dev log like this…
Anyway, for this project, I chose to work on a violin model using the web-based software Onshape. I’m roughly halfway through—or maybe just at the beginning… I mean, I have the structure down, but the hard part is still ahead. I need to do the finishing touches to make it look good and check that it’s properly converted into a printable file… uh…
Yeah, I don’t have much else to say about it right now. So, sorry.
