Hi, this is my personal website’s 3rd version!

After going through so much trial and error with v2, I had a vague idea of what I wanted for the landing page and for the main page of this version. However, I couldn’t make up my mind for the visual aesthetic of the pages, and thus took a long time researching and studying other people’s code.
The most challenging part was implementing the calendar “date” you see at the top right corner. This was a baby made from javascript using arrays and the Date() function. I had a lot of trouble getting the code to actually update in real time.
I really value the “physical” part of websites, which mainly includes the hovering and clicking actions of the site. Headers, the calendar, images, etc. mostly all have hover animations. Next, I plan on implementing a satisfying “clicking” sound when things are clicked.
Overall, I’m definitely the most proud of my main page’s calendar date script that shows the date, day, month, and year in real time.

🐦 After much deliberation and headache, I was able to push through and finish up the rest of the home page… the images can be hovered over to change their color filters.
⭐ An issue with the /about page has been fixed. Before, the main container would slide out of place on smaller screens, something I didn’t notice until a few days ago. Now after changing the css from “row wrap” to “row nowrap”, the issue is resolved.

Working on the main home page of v3…
Progress has been really slow, but I have implemented a navigation bar with a dropdown menu, a working day-date display (with javascript date) and added a marquee with marquee3k on github + an image of joke bear… how cute!
I’m actually so done tho idk what to do with the big gaping empty hole but at least everything looks aight…

incredibly indecisive happenings over a new v3 layout
I started work on this landing page but it does not match my vision at all. I’ll try something different tomorrow. The empty space on the right needs to be filled somehow.
