Middle-earth OS
Middle-earth OS is a browser based operating system inspired by the world of the Lord of the Rings. I built it with HTML, CSS and JS (I became pretty confident with these 3 after completing the personal site mission)
Ship #1 focused on fulfilling the basic requirements. It has draggable and resizable windows, a taskbar, time display at the bottom. Also has 3 simple apps: Notes, Timer and Gallery.
So far, it’s super basic. I’m developing this in multiple ships adding smth new each time. You can already see I have two other apps in the working(Map and Palantir). I will definitely make it more polished visually and technically. (Ship #2 will have more lotr themed apps and more unique features (ive already thought of a few amazing ones)). The goal is to turn this simple OS into a full immersive one.

Now the os has 3 simple apps: Notes, Timer and Gallery. Current time is displayed on the bottom right. The windows are draggable and resizable.

More work done. The windows are now draggable and can be opened and closed. I added a simple note taker (with add, delete, clear and view functions). I started working on a timer app today. (but there’s some error (it better not be a missing bracket/letter in a variable cuz those are so hard to find 🙏)). More work tomorroww.

today i worked getting the windows to open. I could not work for a long time today. I was simply able to add windows and a bit of text. Tomorrow I will work on including the dragging and the design aspect.

baby steps
started work on lotr-os (the name needs work). I finished the personal site mission and now i have more experience with HTML and CSS (ESPECIALLY CSS). I hope it turns out good!
