Today I designed a PLA display stand for the electrolysis demonstrator so the main assembly can sit upright securely without putting load on the terminals.The stand uses a wide rectangular base with a curved U-shaped cradle sized around the 90 mm bottom cap. I gave the cradle a 92 mm inner diameter so the device has a small amount of clearance, while the outer wall is thick enough to stay rigid when printed. I also centered the cradle on the base, made it about 30 mm deep, and added support ribs and fillets to strengthen the connection between the cradle and base.After test-fitting the main assembly in Onshape, I adjusted the cradle position so it sits flush with the bottom of the base and confirmed that the terminal pins do not contact the stand. The current version holds the device upright while keeping the transparent center section visible and accessible

I’ve been working on a compact water electrolysis demonstrator inspired by the small “arc reactor” look. The main goal right now is to get the mechanical design clean and modular before worrying about iron man details. So far, I modeled a clear cylindrical acrylic chamber with removable top and bottom caps, six outer tie rods for structure, and a removable internal cartridge holding a stack of stainless-steel disks on two conductive rods. I also added separate positive and negative terminals on the bottom, plus a dedicated fill/drain port and an atmospheric vent on the top. Next I’m planning to finish the terminal isolation details, make the upright display stand, before moving on to the decorative arc-reactor-style shell and lighting.
