This is a feature-limited OS based around Otters. As of now it contains an app called Otterwiki which contains information about all 14 otter species, a calculator which can do basic mathematical operations, a clicker game, JS paint, and a to-do app . This OS was inspired for my love for Otters!!!
Since the last ship of this project i have added 5 new features which include a clicker game, JS paint, a to-do app, a typing animation for the title of the webpage, a little otter which follows your mouse around.
I’m really proud of how the whole project turned out since i’m a complete beginner. The most challenging part was coming up with features that i can add with my current skill set 〒▽〒.
I worked really hard on this so i hope you enjoy!!!!!
I finished working on the To-do app so now even if you close the OS and reopen; ur tasks will still be there!! I also updated the README.
I made a new app- its a To-Do app (￣▽￣)* I’m almost done, i just need to make sure the todos get saved even when you close the website and open it again and also i need to work on the delete button.
Sorry for the late update- I finished the Clicker game and added JS Paint asw (●ˇ∀ˇ●). Andd yeaaa thats about it. I’m still searching for more things to add to this OS but i genuinely can’t think of anything(┬┬﹏┬┬)
I added my first upgrade to the clicker game. I still need to work on the javascript for this upgrade but i shall do so tmrw. i also added a otter that follows the cursor and also leaves a trail >.< honestly i do not know how it took me almost 3 hours to design the first upgrade TwT but atleast now the rest of the upgrades will take lesser time.
I added a typing animation to the title of the webpage and also started working on A clicker game. hehe (¬‿¬)
Presenting to you — OTTEROS. It is a WebOS based on otters and it contains an app called Otterwiki and a calculator app.
I would say the hardest thing for me was figuring out how the Javascript works becuz i’m a complete beginner /_ .
I’m really proud of the Otterwiki app cuz it honestly took a lot of time and effort to gather all that information. (i actually felt like giving up cuz it was taking so long to complete) i’m happy i powered through anyway (/≧▽≦)/
I made a calculator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think i can make it look better but im too busy rn so it’ll have to do T-T. i hope yall like it!! ALSO HAPPY SEA OTTER AWARENESS WEEK!!!
I’ve finished the first app in the OS (/≧▽≦)/. This app is called Otterwiki and it contains information about each of the 14 otter species. Making this took a very long time lol-cuz i had to gather a lot of information. I hope yall like it!!!
Almost done with my first app!! its called Otterwiki and i will update you on what it is when its done. till now i wrote 4 different sections and rn im gonna work on the javascript to hide the sections and only open it when u toggle it in the side bar. Will update yall soon!!(oh yea i also added an otter in the corner since this is an otteros but there was no otter in sight (￣▽￣)* )
I finished the 2nd and 3rd parts. I made the welcome window thingy a little bigger and also added a top bar along with making the window movable. When you click on the brown circle it closes and when u click on the “live laugh love otters”, it opens the welcome window. i might change it later so u can open it by clicking an ‘app’. But yea this is what i have so far. ^^
I finished the 1st and half of the second part of the guide. Instead of styling everything in the html file i put all the style elements in a css file cuz its hard to read when theyre in the same file. About the background- i dont really know if i should keep it or not but i’ll change it in the future if i want. Also i had no idea what to keep for the intro so i kept it simple, might also change that in the future. Now i’m gonna need to add the Javascript. I do not know javascript so i might learn it first and then add the javascript instead of just copying the guide. :P
