A cinematic Christopher Nolan-esque vibe of a website

Ship #1

I made COSMOS, a cinematic NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day explorer. The hardest part was getting the NASA API working correctly on deployment and making it look good on different screen sizes. I’m proud of the Explore Time date picker, which lets you jump to older APODs instead of only seeing today’s image and explore all of the beatiful images. To test it, open the live site, pick a different date, and make sure the image/video, title, date, and Mission Brief update.

Finished the project and added my own features which is an Explore Time date picker that lets you jump to past NASA Astronomy Pictures of the Day. I also finished the fullscreen cinematic UI, README, and GitHub Pages deployment. I also double checked the api.

I Built out the first working version of the NASA APOD website, I connected the site to NASA’s API so it loads the current image, title, date, and the explanation, then started redesigning the page for the image to be nearly full-screen for the imax/cinematic experience i was chasing, then I moved the title over the image, and changed the Mission Brief (data explanation) into a full width section under the image.
