I ended code for sender esp32 (I’m using esp NOW communication) and start checking if the CAD project have some inconveniences, and it has a lot. First the spear for beads wasn’t the right size and form, so I fixed this. Second button wasn’t fitting in the mold for it so I also fixed it (it’s visible on the front of casing). Third, I added holes for motor controler casing. And fourth I added hole for powerring circut from the electrical outlet on the lid of the casing. Tommorow I will end the CAD and AGAIN writing the code for reciever of esp32.
I’ve been working on new automatic system for roller blades. Most time I tried to fix the older one but I realised I need a new one. I only built a little of it but tomowor I will continiue. Also I stored my folder and started creating list of what I need to buy. The debuging time was so frustrating that I wasn’t on strenght to continue but when I got the solution I get some motivation (I didn’t post for 3 days but in this devlog are 3 days of work)
I figured out why WiFi didn’t want to connect. That was because of my WiFi. I have 5GHz while esp32 limit is 2.4GHz so I used my hotspot(I didn’t feel like changing the router settings). I also replaced that library with my own code. Also I did data transporter with help of ESP NOW. Now I need to just create software for another esp32 to receive messages.
I’ve been working on new way to replace the library that controls my motor. Most of the time I spent on trying to figure out how the LED didn’t want to turn on or off on my ESP32 and the WiFi doesn’t want to connect (I checked SSID and password a lot of times). I’m done for today.
I didn’t get much done today. I worked on the software and finished the CAD project (properly this time) by adding a housing for the manual control button. I managed to program systems such as the motor controller shutdown in case of overheating and a prototype for the automatic motor switching system. I still need to work on tracking the time and using it to trigger the extending and retracting of the blinds.
I’m back from vacation and have done some work. I replaced the threaded mounts for the blinds with hinges and detached the battery pack so that the mechanism can be installed on both sides of the blinds using the same model. All that’s left is the button for manually opening and closing them. I’ve also been working on the circuit diagram and need to add the button I mentioned earlier.
I am on vacation now, but I take screenshot from my mobile app. I worked on easy montage and casing for engine controller in the back of the main casing.
Today, I added a cover for the ESP32, a housing lid, a gear for the blinds, and a 9V battery holder with cable cutouts for the power supply. I still need to add space for the motor driver, and the CAD design will be complete. I also decided to not make PCB because it will not fit inside of casing, so I decided to set components seperate.
I got back from my grandmother’s around 3 PM today, and that’s all I managed to get done. I’m working on an automatic system for opening and closing the blinds. So far, I’ve only built the housing. Tomorrow, I’ll try to finish the CAD design and start working on the software (I haven’t ordered the parts for the project yet).
