This project is about developing an automated device for measuring the Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of thermoplastic materials. The aim is to create a simple and reliable system that can determine the temperature at which a thermoplastic specimen deforms under a defined load. The specimen is placed inside a heated chamber and gradually heated at a controlled rate while a constant weight is applied. As the temperature increases, the specimen begins to bend under the applied load. A mechanical detection system monitors the deflection and triggers when a predefined amount of deformation is reached. At that point, the system records the temperature, providing the Heat Deflection Temperature of the tested material.
