I have made a bot that makes you laugh and gives you facts about cats and space!
My biggest challenge was trying to figure out how to run my bot 24/7 on Nest.
What I like most about my project is the /celestial-spacefact function which displays “Space fact of the Day”, including an image url, directly using NASA’s open APOD API.

Devlog #2: Made a spacefact function

I used one of NASA’s open API to incorporate this function into my code.

/celestial-spacefact gives a spacefact of the day along with an image link.

You can use it to broaden your knowledge of astronomy and the worlds beyond!

I’m excited to ship this project once I’m done figuring out how to make my bot run 24/7 on nest. But for now, I’m happy with my bot’s functionalities :)

Devlog #1 - Building my first ever chatbot

This is my first time coding on JavaScript, so I’m finding it difficult.

I have added the following functions:

/celestial-help: Shows you all the available commands
/celestial-ping: Shows you latency
/celestial-catfact: Gives you a random fact about cats
/celestial-joke: Makes you laugh ;D

I’m planning to add more functions and polish my script.

P.S: I finally figured out how to push my code to Github without revealing my “secrets”. So, yayy!!! It took me a long time to figure that out!! ;)
