The YuumiBoard

ALRIGHT. I lowkey said I would journal like, a week ago - but I have been running into problems.(Playing League of Legends and procrastinating) I kinda excused it by having emailed some acrylic laser cutting shops and saying “Oh, I’m just waiting on a response”, but the silly part is that I didn’t even have my file, I just emailed them saying I need something roughly 32cm*15cm.
Anyways! I decided to do something today! Finally! I made the plate in LibreCad, after realizing KiCad doesn’t do well with drawings. It went a little smooth,(It took me a good amount of time to find the ruler tool) but after some cross-checking with my PCB and changing the dimensions a few times, I got the plate done.

I also decided to 3D print the case, cause it’s just much easier to manage, trial and error, and cheaper.
So, I just need to work CAD for the case, and solder and assemble.

Also, I just wanted to say, I forgot KEEB was an active YSWS program, so it might’ve been better to post there, since I can get direct funding… (Money IMPLODED after this project)

Hi in a rush ok I do layout and I sad cause high price and also realized put pico in like middle of board not very good had to move to side keyboard kinda big now I do better journal in… like a week

Starting the YuumiBoard. It’s been about two weeks since I initially created the project, but it’s gone through a few iterations. This is supposed to be a gift for someone, so I didn’t just want to make a macropad, which was the first idea.
The second idea was to just make him a keyboard, with Yuumi art, since his keyboard is crusty, but his keyboard was already good, so many not.
The third idea which is the one I chose, a keyboard, but the entire middle section is just a giant “E”. The borders have keys, except for the middle.

I wired up the schematic and chose the components I would use, so now I have to move on to the layout and stuff.

The “Flat”s are gonna be keys where the giant E will be on.
