Building a Chladni Plate to learn about resonance and vibrations.
Completed the Chladni Plate
Add the enclosure for the subwoofer and the pcb amplifier, now I just need to test the 3D prints for the enclosures and buy heat inserts, the subwoofer, aluminum sheet, the pcb amplifier, and the acrylic sheet as well.
Chladni Plate Assembly
Created the main assembly of the “Chladni Plate”. A Chladni Plate is basically a very cool demonstration and real life example of resonance and vibration of sound waves. It uses a wave/mechanical driver or otherwise known as the frequency generator (~ subwoofer or sound thing) to create frequencies at which unqiue patterns are formed.
In this timelapse, I created the basic model for the subwoofer I will buy, and modelled the screws that I’ll be using. And I attached everything together to created the wave driver attached to the aluminum plate where the patterns will emerge.
Next Steps — create the enclosure that will hold the subwoofer and house the screws and add the electronical components to bring everything into one full CAD piece.
