Devlog #5 (8.29.2026) Today was I added some buttons that let you visualize the protein in a different way. The default is the “ribbon” and the added one is the “spheres” one which lets you visualize it as seen below. I also added a button that manually has the 3d model spin on its own! I don’t really know why I added this but it seemed fitting. I wish I could screen record it spinning but I haven’t figured that part out yet.

Devlog #4 (8.28.26) guys I’m sorry but school started and i was unexpectedly busy but I am back. Today I spent my time creating an info box container which has more information on the protein you just loaded in. To do this I used Java to create a function that pulls this data. I tested it out and on the bottom you can see it!

Devlog #3 (8.13.2026) Hey guys its been a while. Today I edited the code and fixed this bug where the container where the model loads in got all wonky but….. I got the container to load in our first working 3D Model of a Protein!!!! You can zoom in, out and spin it around!

Devlog #2 (8.8.26) Today I didn’t really get much work done because I was out of the house for almost the entire day. so this is a short devlog. All i really did was add some JavaScript code that adds functionality to the website. Basically, just fetching and loading in the 3D models of proteins when you click “render structure”. I also made plans on how to make the website look better but yeah thats all for today. The image is just a short piece of the javascript code. At the bottom, you can see what happens when someone enters an incorrect ID to load in a protein. peace

Devlog #1. Today I officially started work on my project. I am building a website that allows you to visualize and learn more about all types of proteins. Today, I coded in HTML to build the very basic structure of the website. I have limited knowledge in programming and through this project I hope to further my knowledge, for which I am very excited! Today in the VS Code Studio, I did some basic writing on the website that gives you an overview of what you can do. I also set up the container in which the 3D Model will be displayed. Finally, I added a search bar and category filters that allow you to choose what to display. They have not been set up yet. Overall, I am pretty satisfied right now. Again, this website is in its extremely basic stages, and I 100% plan on beautifying it! Hope to update you guys soon :)
