Day 1 of turning my unfinished game jam demo into a fully polished game.

Hello! Quick backstory. The GMTK Game Jam just happened. In case you somehow don’t know what it is, it’s where people from all across the world come together and get 4 days to make a game based off of a theme (which for this jam was count down) revealed on the first day. The game that I decided to make is a WarioWare inspired game called the World’s Easiest Game, where to win the game and go through with the narrator’s wishes, all you have to do is wait thirty seconds. However, you don’t want to do that, so instead you press the button to play a microgame, which if you win, will add time to the timer. The catch for me however, was that I only had one day, and ended up running out of time to add many things to the game, including some key elements. That takes us to today, where I will be finishing the game and making it even better! Today was the first day of me finishing this game, and I added MANY sound effects for various situations, and my autoload that saves and carries data between scenes and also carries my music system, which I also added today, which brings in and/or removes instruments based on the intensity of a current moment. I also added a main menu, a splash screen with my developer name at the beginning of the game, and a sarcastic “You Win” screen from the perspective of the narrator. Tomorrow, I want to add even more sound effects, add screen effects, add a pause menu, and start working on adding more microgames. Thanks for reading, and see you tomorrow!
