runes are a new system of item modifiers, separated into several tiers, which are rolled with a ritual, they can be applied to any item, they’re super fun and offer a lot of build variety (there are 30 of them)
to obtain them you need 4 copper ingots, and 4 rune stones obtained from killing mobs.

might add a way to dupe rune stones later in order to make them less grindy
