Hey! This is my first project. I am going to first follow the guide to learn the basics, then my goal is to make a gaming hackpad. The hackpad will have the common keys to play different games, rollers to manage songs, and a screen (I have not yet decided the use).

I tried to write the firmware in QMK, but it was getting errors for some reason. I even tried copy pasting direct Gemini code, but it still didn’t compile. Then I switched to KMK, and it was comparatively simple. I write the firmware in KMK, and then wrote my readme. Now my next devlog will, hopefully, be me physically building it.

I WOULDN’T WISH FUSION ON EVEN MY WORST ENEMY!
Yesterday, I completed the PCB design, and I thought the 3D model will be done quicker than the PCB, but I was so wrong. It took me 3 hours just to get the rectangle and its walls. The software really confused me although I know how to use Blender. I ended up completing the design after locking in.

DEVLOG 2
After locking in for 5 hours, I have managed to make the PCB board. It wasn’t dificult to make it, but I accidentally went in the rabbit hole of adding too many components. There weren’t enough wire layers for me to route 10 leds, oled, roller, and the 7 key matrix. I tried multiple time with different layouts but it was not working. In the end, I gave up on the backlights, added an 8th key and finished the pcb. Check it out! Please let me know if something is done wrong.

Hey! This is my first log. I tested out how the whole ecosystem works, and I also did the setups for the two softwares I am going to need for this project. Along with this, I designed my first ever PCB that is of the 3-key Hackpad (shown in the tutorial). It’s a fun software! I am going to start working on how matrices work because I want my Hackpad to be stacked.
