mostly spent fiddling with a bit of ai and doing finishing touches before deployment. this was supposed to be 2 devlogs but i forgot to post and just continued coding but oh well.

• a lot of styling tweaks for markdown displays and forms
• install marked alert plugin for gfm alert blockquotes
• scrollbar, article, disabled button, and other element styling
• made footer stick to the bottom regardless of content height
• move loaddoc function to lib for use in other pages such as query
• function to remove apex domains from query if present
• implement subdomain suggestions html structure
• readme display for announcements
• loading indicator texts
• change nav link from config to query

after this im gonna write docs/requirement.md and polish the github org a bit before shipping (hopefully) tomorrow

split time between website and register docs, bc i keep going back and forth and cant decide whether the website or the docs are more important. anyways

register:

• create base doc files for quickstart and requirements
• write docs for quickstart guide
• remove cringy line on the register repo readme

website-v2:

• made a base domain query page (unfinished)
• new page-container class in global styles used for consistent margin and padding
• fix link styles in docs
• handle form submission for homepage subdomain search

felt productive again somehow during a school night

thats a pretty good amount of time accumulated purely writing docs

small devlog but prob worth mentioning

well the actions script failed due to worker routes being read only. i decided to use dnscontrol’s built in CF_REDIRECT record for this instead and also update it due to missmatch TTL from dev with prod.

apparently this caused an error because actions kept failing to deploy due to missing creds. after a while of debugging and headbanging, i folded and attempted to use github copilot agent to try and fix it (hehe pr number 67) but that didnt do the trick.

it was only when i checked the repo secrets that i realized the env variable is called CF_API_TOKEN and not CLOUDFLARE_API_TOKEN. that was like hours of my time spent away debugging instead of working on the website like i planned but oh well

took longer than expected, now im rewriting the dnscontrol script for deploying dns records to support multiple apex domains. this was rather challenging due to dnscontrol’s heavily limited dsl and language features, but eventually it works and now i just need to add documentation in markdown.

• fix type errors and cleanup code in dnscontrol.js before rewrite
• cleanup unused scripts and nix files
• remove nix branch (previous plan but support was too limited to be reliable)
• modified json schema so now “record” key is “records” (plural)
• update github action yaml files as well as fix old file paths

mhm not bad so to say

• reordered fetch function calls for stats display
• adjusted the typing and count functions for smootheness
• use lavender as the primary color
• complete homepage sections (mostly copied from the old site)
• add a footer

and yes i made the github logo cyan but cmon we need some colors here

back after a long procrastination and burn out period.

• made stats counter increment one by one when loaded using js function by copilot
• made main title typing using js function by copilot
• added a little info bar indicating new subdomain available for registration
• added forum/search bar for registering new domains
