DevLog #6 I’ve wasted too much time just trying to figure out how to import good looking and also good running trees, and I still DIDN’T figure out HOW?! Any help is greatly appreciated (please). These screenshots I took we’re running in like 10 fps because of the trees, maybe it could be because of my laptop, and if that is, I just don’t know what to do. Other than that, I’ve fixed some weird bugs in the terrain, but there still remain to be some, it takes a lot of time as it needs to be done manually. Anyway, thanks for reading fellow human being, hope you have a great day!
DevLog #5: Major Visual Update, makes the game look way better that i originally thought I could make it. Although I’m not supposed to give my own opinion, it looks pretty good. Godot crashed so i had to reimport the textures and redo the auto-shader, but it looks nice, i think. I think y’all also can see the gun test on the last image, and i think its the way to go, ill just have to model a silencer and some other guns and AAaaaaahh why everything so hard. With all that in mind, I’m pretty proud of my progress learning Godot in the last 2 month , and I hope I can make more, since i really love doing it. If y’all have any suggestions, write it in the comments, I’ll take it into consideration.
Devlog #4, I think. Sooooo, i needed to redo the mountain, made it bigger so textures worked better and the world felt bigger. Also managed to texture the snow and the rock, let me know how it looks. Name of the game is not final ,but i ain’t having any better ideas so it might as well be it. Next up ill need to add vegetation like trees, bushes, maybe grass? idk rocks would also greatly help. 1 more think i should add is a better sky, the Godot default looks kinda bad tbh. Better lighting will also come with the better sky. Right now, I’m thinking I’ll release it on itch.io once i think it’s fun enough , but not in the finished state, as player feedback is required (in my opinion) to make a great fun game (also helps with bug finds). I might also make my trello board public if there’s enough demand
DevLog 3 (I think): It’s been a while, and i figure out i should make another one, and its been a bit hard, but I’m actively working on the map. I think i got the overall layout right, and need to texture it , put the assets and everything else. I used the Terrain3D addon on the Godot asset store ( It’s amazing and optimized), and i highly recommend it! Have a great day random human and hope you’re doing great. Now it’s time to hit the sack. (Write in the comments if y’all think i should share my trello board with the game progress)
Nailed the movement system. Feels fluid and its really simple. I will upload it on github later and put it in the NorthHigh Description. (Sorry for the laggy video) Next thing to make is a map i think, but we’ll see. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: bean name is BILLY
All great stories start with a bean… Devlog 1 I guess. Started learning godot like 2 months ago, and made the first steps for my game: A non functional movement system… Just like Newton said one time “Man, why move when you can sit” and then a apple hit him and he prob ded now idk. ok enough yapping , i will get back to learning
